Misc Protandim fried my friends brain... anyone know anything about this stuff?

Hi all, so like the title said, my friend (and yes she actually is a friend of mine) used to be mad normal and chill. She smokes weed, pops molly ect. But last week she started ranting non stop about how she wants to start a revolution and bring world peace and everything like that.

She told me she took 7 protandims and she's been tripping for 4 days straight without sleep. I'm really worried about her.. she literally just rants non stop about the revolution she's going to start, and when shes finished the whole speech she just starts over again.

Everyone is calling her crazy or just super high. I dont know what to think, she definitely acts like shes on something. She is really really REAALLY fucking crazy. Like bat shit crazy. She gave me 750$ worth of high quality mdma for free.. Idk, theres something seriously wrong with this girl so if anyones ever heard anything about something similar please let me though.. thx..

Umm... If these are the ingredients:

Protandim consists mainly of a blend of 5 herbal ingredients (amounts per caplet listed in parentheses):
Milk thistle (Silybum marianum) extract (225 mg)
Bacopa (Bacopa monniera) extract (150 mg)
Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) root (150 mg)
Green tea (Camellia sinensis) extract (75 mg)
Turmeric (Curcuma Ionga) extract (75 mg)
Additional ingredients include: calcium, croscarmellose sodium, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, modified cellulose, silica, and stearic acid.

Its highly unlikely that is what made your friend snap.

It sounds like she had a psychotic break that happened to coincide with the supplementation. She needs to seek professional help, sorry.

Considering that this is a product that comes from an MLM, its highly unlikely that those extracts are high potency either.

I'd say she should go see a doctor asap before she does anything bad.

You said she had lots of high quality mdma. If she was abusing that as well it could have serious effects on ones brain and mental state.

Also I'd test what she gave you with a reagent kit before ingesting any of it.

Yea... anyone who has $750 worth of mdma lying around has probably done a lot, so it's possible she had a crazy episode on large dose mdma.

Can another drug be taken into consideration. If your friend truly is crazy than maybe she took something else and either doesn't remember or is confusing the drug she did take with protandim. When you say "pop mollys" do you mean that she eats actual pills, cause she might have taken a roll that has something else.

Maybe she's bipolar and having a manic episode? Or taking stimulants? I'd guess she's either hiding something or it's an undiagnosed (or undisclosed to you) mental disorder. I don't think the Protandim had much to do with it. Why would she take 7 pills of a supposed anti-aging supplement anyway? Was she trying to get high? And in the US "molly" is often not MDMA but an RC like methylone. Binges on these drugs will often trigger manic episodes. She needs to tone it down & give it a rest. In her mania she is probably saying it was the protandim, when in reality it's the "molly."

Sounds like Bi-Polar Mania, when I go sky-high; I too go 4 days without sleep and rant about the "secret code" that was everywhere that had special meaning to me and solving would show me the secrets of the Universe.
She needs help, mania sometimes dissipates on its own or it needs high amounts of AP's and benzo's.

Yea, so i told her family about it and i guess they're flying her back to georgia to live there now.. i'm not sure if what happened to her was something that she's always dealt with in her life or if it just happened. Hella bummed right now because up until recently she was the chillest and most kind girl i've ever met, i really really hate to see her go but i guess i did the right thing. Who knows what could of happened if it just kept going unnoticed (which it was). I'll miss her

You should get a lot of credit for doing the right thing. Seriously, you did the best thing for her you could have done. This is probably due to something medical you don't know. Again, good on you for doing the right thing.
