There are several websites where you can read that Propoyphene taken orally is propably the weakest opioid ever. It is very weak (almost impossible to get an effect from it) but also dangerous: it causes strong respiratory depression and other things...

However on these websites, you can also read that Propoxyphene taken IV gives a decent opioid rush, you can even read that Propoxyphene IV can be compared to Heroin... It is very abused in India.

I just have a few simple questions:
Has anybody ever injected Propoxyphene?
What is a good dose (IV of course) to get a good opiate effect? Something that would feel like 300mg Codeine (with no tolerance of course)?

i have never heard of people slamming propeyphene but am too interested in hearing the outcome, i cant see how it can be that great as the pill itself is pretty much worthless for arecreational user..

there has to be some binders in there you dont want putting in your vein, rule of thumb dont slam pills..

Hey, sorry, I can't remember if what I had was dextropoxyphene, or don't know if they're the same thing, but a friend gave them to me and they came in these little red capsules that could be easily opened. Upon opening the capsules a small amount of white powder would fall out.
Anyways, he told me to snort them, as taking it intranasally was apparantly the most effective way of taking them and while the high wasn't at all much euphoric, it was definitely a stimulative opioidish high. Nothing special. But, yea... I thought I'd mention that.

When the original Darvon went on the market, people were injecting it, and ODing with regularity. As a result, the pharmaceutical companies came up with Propoxyphene Napsylate which is specially formulated so that it would not dissolve in water and, thus, could not be injected.

Just to make things clear, I talk about Propoxyphene Hydrochloride, the one that is soluble in water.
And I don't live in the US, so I'm not interested in Darvon/Darvocet; the capsules I can get are capsules containing almost only Propoxyphene Hydrochloride (with very few fillers)...

^I understand; I was simply offering some background information. The attitude is not necessary.
Also keep in mind that it is cardiotoxic; it causes a condition known as QT prolongation that basically fucks with the heart's ability to contract in a co-ordinated way (can lead to ventricular fibrillation). Basically it can kill you due to its effect on the heart. And to top it off the recreational dose is extremely close to the toxic dose.
