It's not really a potentiator though ,is it? I recall quite a bit of discussion about it from 2-3 years ago. Someone might have even tried it. Do a search.
I'll leave this open for now, since it doesn't get talked about often, and this might turn into a decent thread. But, it could equally just not get any replies...
Yeah I think Proglumide is a pipe dream. I think I found a Taiwanese company that listed it as a drug that they stated that they would produce but that there weren't any current orders or plans to actually do so.
After trying for about six months a few years ago, I gave up.
However, a drug that has shown promise and is available through multiple legal and inexpensive channels is DLPA. It is the right and left isomers of phenylalanine. I highly recommend that you research this easily obtained supplement. It works best with short acting opiates and takes about two weeks of twice a day dosing before it starts to kick in.
But when it does, you will notice it. I recall that the first thing I noticed was a marked increase in duration. Then, I noticed that dosages that I had taken for years were actually making me sick. I actually had to reduce my doses by 35 to 50 percent. I was able to obtain the same level of analgesia but for a longer amount of time.
Some examples: The effective duration for hydromorphone was almost doubled to two hours. The duration for IR oxycodone went from three to four hours up to six hours. Sometimes I would throw in some of the other classic potentiators and wouldn't have to dose for almost eight hours.
What it won't do is make methadone last any longer.
^ I think you can buy plain D-phenylalinine if you search. That's the isomer that's supposed to be an enkephalinase inhibitor AFAIK. Lot more expensive.
I have never found a huge diff (with DLPA) but maybe I wasn't using enough. I was/am only taking 500mg/day. Maybe I'll up my dose as I am trying to get my endorphins on line again.
I read on wiki(allthough it may be false info) that the artificial sweetener Aspartame(Equal, NutraSweet) is composed of phenylalinine. Would this perhaps be of any interest in this thread?
Im not exactly an expert on the subject I was just wondering since you meantioned phenylalinine as being an opiate potentiator.
