Productivity a result of heroin?

Some backround info. When I was 11 I was diagnosed as having ADD, although I am not sure to this day if I really do have it. As a result I got an adderall script whic helps me get work down and focus my concenrtion extremely well, but it does little in the way of increasing my motivation when not on the drug. My demotivation stems from smoking too much weed and the rest just because that's how I've always handled things.
So anywah, I railed some smack and then I just started to clean my room, do laundry, do some homework, all of which are things I would ALWAYS put off as long as I could, and things that I would have expected would be at the bottom of my "want" to do list on smack.. I'm one of the worlds biggest and when I was on smack, I was Mr. productivity. I was wondering if other people have had similar experiences. I was told it might have something to do with an endorphin imbalance.

Many, if not most people get this way off the correct dose of heroin - that is, not enough to mash you, but enough to get you feeling like, well, like you felt!
Awhile ago I was convinced that opioids could be used as the ultimate anti-d's, actually, I still think they could be... I submitted a lengthy write-up on it, but every medical professional shot down each of my reasons... not likely to convice anyone, but you know exactly what I am talking about!

"I am not one of those weak-spirited, sappy Americans who want to be liked by all the people around them. I don't care if people hate my guts; I assume most of them do. The important question is: 'What are they in a position to do about it?'" (William S. Burroughs)

You probably do have ADD. For those who truely have it, there brains actually respond to drugs the opposite a non-ADD brain would (tempo wize). That is why adderall (4 different amphetamines) calms down ADD people, but speeds out most. My friend has ADD, coffee puts her to sleep, oxy made her speedy to the point of almost panic attack (to high dose). This is not true for every single drug im sure, but is true as a general rule of thumb. I for get the exact mechinism responsible for it.

Yeah, you should see my apartment right now, it's clean as a whistle and strangely enough, I just got in my order of hydro. Coincidence? I think not.
Opiates motivate me so much. Much more so than meth. Meth doesn't motivate me so much as I just need something to do. Opiates I just wanna do stuff and I enjoy it while I'm doing it. Very strange and totally the opposite of what one would expect.

Dr. Miller right on the money for me man =). I ENJOY the process of cleaning and doing my day to day chores as a result of using opiates.
The weird thing is, I do not feel I am ADD because Adderall gives me the ability to concentrate and stimulates me much the same way it would someone who doesn't have ADD. IT DEFINITELY DOESN'T CALM ME DOWN.
Now if I could only convince my doctor that I need an OC script to help with my motivation. The type of motivation I experience, sounds like the type of motivation one would experience after being on the correct dose of Wellbutrin, but I'm sure WB is DEFINITELY not as fun.

funny. i just came here to ask this exact question because i always found it odd that my friend's cousin, who is a heroin junkie, he always gets super productive and socialable when he's on the smack. he's definitely NOT all smacked out, but very speedy instead. he was all fucked up last time i saw him, and all he wanted to do was cook for me, clean the house, and mow the lawn, etc. i made the mistake of driving with him and he was going WAY too fast, passing people right and left, zooming onto the wrong side of the road--we almost died. it was a BAD idea. but it definitely seemed like he was tweaking or something. very odd. why exactly does this happen to some people? an opposite, but similar example, is how my friend always gets smacked out when she does crystal. i don't get it!

I wish i knew.
It definetely helped me while i was working in the construction industry.

I don't have any clue, but for almost 3 weeks now I've been using near daily. My preformance at work has gone WAY up. I get to the point where if I shot another few 3-4 bumps worth, I'd be nodding out. I get to work somewhat incoherant in the mornings and after the first hour I'm going fast as hell. I feel overly confident. I can focus. And my coworkers absolutely love me now. I can keep up great conversation and feel totally on point. The only thing I think anyone is suspicious of is my "allergies", because I'm always itching.
Another friend of mine ends up cleaning rooms or doing homework if she bangs up, but not enough to start nodding out.
I have no idea what the deal is. I used to notice a lot of these same things in oxycodone. Heroin in the past however, I either got stuff that was weak or insanely strong and I'd end up getting sick and nodding off, so I never noticed what I have noticed lately before.

Do you guys find it difficult to do things that require a lot of thought, like perhaps, calculus? While I feel motivated on opiates, I'm not sure I have the nerve to open up a book. Maybe the difference is the dose?

Well to answer you question I don't think I would be capable of studying. Occupying myself by cleaning my room or some shit is an effective way of not nodding off. If I were sitting and doing calculus I probably wouldn't be able to read the words in the book because my eyes cross out of sedation. Sometimes I need to FIGHT to stay awake. In this case I usually do something productive that keeps me from passing out.
