Problems after getting off birth control pill

Hey,
So I was on the pill for around 2 years and stopped around May after my boyfriend and I broke up. I had my period after that, everything perfectly normal, and then missed the next one, which led to a pregnancy scare due to things that had happened in the past few weeks - started a thread about that back then if anyone remembers. Anyway, I took a home pregnancy test which came back positive but then got a blood test which disproved the home pregnancy test. Thing is, I haven't had my period once since then, so it's been a good 3-4 months. I get all the PMS but no bleeding. I also get these days where I'm incredibly tired and have no energy whatsoever, like I can't even get out of bed or I feel like I might faint (these occur fairly often).
Might I be missing my period because the pill has messed up my hormonal system? Has this happened to anyone before? I'm also wondering if it might be due to opiate use in the last few months, or if I might be sick or something. The problem is I don't think I can really see a doctor about it because I'd surely have to take a blood test, which would show the presence of, er, illegal products in my blood.
The last time this happened to me was about 4 years ago because I'd lost about 30kg in 4 months and was almost hospitalized for anorexia. No sudden weight loss or gain this time though.

I went off the pill after taking it pretty consistently for ~15 years. I have not had the extreme like you where I've had no period, but mine are very light and last a day or two. I'm actually pretty happy about that. LOL

When I was younger, I did an extreme diet where I hardly ate and I actually lost my period for literally a year. Are you by chance not eating properly?

I would see a doctor, girlie. 3-4 months is pretty long. Have you been tested for STDs since the incident? Just a thought even though I know you don't want to go down that road again, but it's important for your health. I really wouldn't worry about the opiates in your blood. You can be upfront with them and tell them, but they will be testing for certain things. You probably should just tell the doctor, so by chance if it has anything to do with it at all, you're covered. It's not like you're going there for pain or anything, so prescriptions for pain meds won't be an issue.

Aah you're so lucky for that. Yeah I also had a year when I was 14-15 where I stopped having my period because I was super skinny but no I've been eating perfectly normally recently so I don't think it's that. I did get tested for STDs a couple months ago, and everything came back negative, thank God.
All right I'll probably go see a doctor. I was worried about what might happen if they found opiates in my blood but I guess there wouldn't actually be any consequences other than they might be judgemental. Thanks

Pagey- What you're describing isn't completely abnormal. It's odd to have missed for 4 months, but the blood test is a relatively conclusive way to determine things- and that came back negative, so no worries there. The logical point to then consider is the birth control pill- which were you taking?

Incidentally- a normal panel of bloods isn't screened for illicit compounds, unless the requesting physician stipulates that it should be. Also- a physician is acting outside of patient confidentiality if he/she discusses medical test results with ANYONE but you unless you give explicit permission- so no legal repercussions should be anticipated regardless of what they find in your blood

It could be the stress you're under. You never know. Or you might be bleeding reeeeally lightly? Weird that you are getting the symptoms. My symptoms changed after I stopped taking the pill, but I never actually lost my period altogether.

I wouldn't worry about them judging you. It's better that they know, so you get a more accurate diagnosis. But it's not like they can't treat you at all or withhold treatment because of it.

Salvinorin - I was taking Melodia. I live in France so I'm not really sure where else that one is sold/if it's sold anywhere else.
Oooh okay, I hadn't realized that! I thought the opiates would automatically show up. That's a big relief!

Lysis - Yeah you're probably right. I'll go talk to a doctor about it in a couple weeks (life is a bit heptic at the moment).
