Problem w/ Hand-Blown Glass DMT Pipe

I just had a headshop in my town custom-make me a hand-blown glass pipe for smoking DMT. Here's a photo of it:

Sweet, no? Problem is, it doesn't work too well. Seems the glass that comprises the bulb part is a bit too thick - not a lot of vapor is filling the bulb. (Though some is - I feel some low-dose effects and some definite CEVs.)

Anyone have any ideas? Do those torch lighters produce more heat than regular lighters? I also had another good idea but I forgot it 8) .

Any help would be greatly appreciated! :)

Call me a nitpicker but I'm pretty sure this qualifies as drug discussion.
 
You can use your beautiful new glass pipe as some sort of decoration or mantle piece. Buy a glass rose and make a crack pipe, and use that for smoking DMT. While not as pretty, it will always work.
 
talk to the headshop. i bet they'll be willing to work out the problems with you (i.e. make a new one for you). especially if this is the first one of these they tried to make, i'll bet they'd be happy to hear that it doesn't work so that any of these they make in the future will be functional.
 
Eh, I dunno if they'll make you a new one unless you wanna pay them again, unless they're really cool about stuff like that - you can't really return the used pipe, and for all they know you just want free glassware out of them. Anyway, good luck - hopefully a torch'll do the trick, butane burns nice and hot.
 
alasdair, I've found vaporizing with a lighter underneath some folded up foil to work great for things in the past. However, I don't get how you can hold a pen tube or straw, the folded up foil, and the lighter at the same time smoothly. I've let a fair bit of vapors escape, since I feel like I need to see when the process begins.
 
^That's what I'm gonna do. Do those cheap-charlie torch lighters you get at convenience stores give off as hot a flame as the more expensive ones?

And Alasdair, I can't so much as wrap up a sandwich in tin foil w/o being flooded with bad distant memories of crack, so that's out. :\

Couldn't you just hold the tube/straw in your mouth (hands free) and then hold the foil with the substance in one hand and the lighter in the other. Having the tube in your mouth already shouldn't prevent you from seeing when the product starts to vaporize and you should be able to smoke it immediately.

Granted its harder to catch all the vapor with a tinfoil method as its not as easily contained.
 
I can never seem to move my neck&mouth with the straw in it accurately enough over the foil to catch the vapors fully. I need to steady the straw with one hand...

Do what I do then, make a cone out of tinfoil (about 1.5" opening with 5" length) and use that instead of a straw.
Much easier to suck up all the fumes that way :)
