Lat 5 months or so I've had problems with urinating when I take Oxycodone. What happens is it takes me a while to get started and it takes a lot of effort, its almost like the constipation version of urinating. I have to push and push to try and get it started and just when it feels like the pee is about to come out I get this sudden massive contraction which feels like it sucks everything back inwards again.

When I finally begin to pee its not as automatic as it should be, I have to manually maintain a constant push to keep the flow going but then every 2 seconds or so I get these really strong contractions that suddenly stop the pee dead in its tracks, after every contraction I try to relax all my muscles and let it naturally come out but my bladders keeps contracting at rhythmic intervals causing me to stop, start, stop start until I've managed to empty my bladder.

I usually don't have any problems peeing when Im not on the Oxycodone and I don't recall previously having urinating issues during the 4 years I've been on the Oxycodone. Its more so in the last 5 months and it first started when I tried to pee after Oxycodone fuelled sex, I don't know if there is a connection. Any of this sound familiar? If anyone knows whats going on I would apreciate the help.

Yeah opiates are well known for causing urinary retention. You can't do anything if I remember correctly ;)

This was a standard byproduct for me when I was doing H daily. I never really took much oxy, so I can't speak to that. I never have this problem with codiene, hydrocodone, methadone or bupe. I haven't done H in so long I forgot all about this. I remember plenty of times standing over the toilet for literally half an hour with an overwhelming urge for a huge beer piss, but it just wouldn't turn on. And like you said, once I got it turned on, it "came in spurts" lol. Maybe somebody here knows a remedy.

Opiates in general will cause urinary retention. I get this all the time. Try sticking your junk under some hot water. Or sitting down when you pee. I sit down when I pee. Ain't nothin' that crazy 'bout me.

So what do I tell my GF when she walks in the bathroom and ive got my junk in the sink running hot water over it ?

I suffered with this all the time. Personally, I think it's the opiates effecting the prostate, possibly causing swelling and blocking the urinary tract. This certainly doesn't happen to everyone who uses opiates, only a handful like us. And if you think that's not it, then look up the symptoms of Prostatitis and I bet you'll meet every one of them, just like I did after using Oxycodone for over a year.

That's why sitting down to pee really helps when you get this problem. Sitting down will help relieve the pressure on the UT and allow urine to flow more smoothly.

It's definitely a bitch though, especially when you're out in public and gotta piss.

Like another guy said, aside from the sitting down trick, I personally don't know of anything else that can relieve this.

This is a common side effect of opiates. Running water, sitting down and even jumping the the shower for a minute are all excellent ideas and can really help. Nothing else you can really do about it though.

^ I have had to use all of the above - distracting yourself too (reading or sending a text message) with water running often does the trick for me, or running my wrists under warm water - but jumping in the shower never fails!

Agreed. The shower has always worked in a pinch, but it may take some focusing. The trick is to relax and focus on the sound of running water. It also helps to 'visualize the process' if you will.

Opiates will keep all bodily fluids and matter inside the body, challenge to urinate, ejaculate, pass a bowel movement. I guess emesis is the exeception to the rule, but that never occured from opiates to me.

I never really cared to try, sex and opiates should remain seperate IMO, opiates are just too good, no joke. But it is commonly reported, as I am sure you know, it does at least delay ejaculation and orgasm for men at least.

Excellent thanks Tommy!

I think with this thread and the one linked to everything has been covered (and any more q's can be directed to the other thread) so I am going to close this. If anyone has any queries feel free to shoot me a pm :)
