People might have noticed that my posts up until this point are kind intentioned but kind of uninformed (which is why my name is curiousgeorganne... curious and dumb- the georganne thng has nothing to do with it but uh.. curious.. okay i'll shut up--)-- so I apologise... but i did a search and found nothing..
I am on a pretty strict diet--- and i found shrooms... someone told me that it would be a bad idea to eat a lot of shrooms on a diet because they are highly caloric.... being as mis/uninformed as i am I was just wondering if shrooms are really caloric?
If so, how many calories are in a given sized bag?
If not.. im sorry -- just wondering
also--- Are there any drugs other than like beer, alc and pot (given that i give into the munchies whenever i get them... sadly...)--- that would be very fattening?
probably a really really dumb question-- ive made fun of myself about it enough... so please dont laugh at me in replies---
thanks a ton!!!
much love

just dont eat shrooms all the time, i mean you could have a candy bar once every 3 or 4 weeks right? and whoever told you that is *most likely* full of shit.

Well, um, I'm pretty sure that they don't have that many calories. the legal kind don't so i don't see why the hallucinogenic type would. You don't eat too many of them anyways. I wouldn't obsess, I'm sure that you can fit them in with your evening meal.

shit! U didnt hear! the average mushroom can cause a rise in blood pressure, heart attacks and kidny stones!!!
haha, i think thor_shroom would know the answer to this one

Psychedelic mushrooms probably don't have many more calories in them than normal grocery store mushrooms. See how often average mushrooms would fit into your diet and allocate that to your shroom intake. But damn, if you're eating that many shrooms, worry about what's happening to your brain!
In response to your second question, alcohol is FILLED with calories (this I know). If you are trying to lose/maintain weight, watch the drink intake. (Liquor, beer, wine--it doesn't matter, its the active ingredient, ethanol, where most of your calories come from.)

Mushrooms of all kinds contain VERY FEW calories. They are composed primarily of chitin. This is similar in structure to cellulose, but a reversed order in the carbons, er, you didn't need to know that, but no, there are EXTREMELY FEW calories in them! Our bodies digest what they can of the mushrooms (and they are metabolised very easily) and what they can't are just excreted!
Go hard, don't worry, you won't get fat! ; )
rorick the hammer (the former anorexic... I know, cause I used to be a paranoid anorexic freak who ACTUALLY looked into this stuff)
:)

i at one time was very intreasted if units of measure. a calorie is a unit of measuring energy.
it's something like; 1 calorie is the ammount of energy it takes to raise the temp of 1g of water 1deg C. if i recall right that's refering to when an object containg calories is burned. so that would say anything that could be burned contained calories.
thoes mushrooms would seem to contain more energy than regular ones,
