Private Messaging question

I have searched for this using the engine multiple times, but to no avail can I find an answer - so I apologize if it is out there and I haven't found it.

But I'm wondering what the deal is with my private messaging. Can I ever have more than 5 messages (not really a big deal as I can manage that) but my main concern is how I'm only allowed to send 1 private message ever 180 minutes. Do I need more posts or something or what's going on here? Anyway for me to 'upgrade' this feature?

After 50 posts you will be able to have a lot more, and send without restrictions.

Traditionally, greenlighters were never able to PM people other than staff. This feature was lost during the upgrade, so the current restrictions were put in place.
 
Ah I see, I thought it may have been something along those lines as the people running BL seem to keep this place as clean and tight-knit as can be.

No problem; though maybe I should have joined years ago when I first started following ;)
