Primo Covers v. Better Than The Original

Not better but did restart interest in Beastie Boy s and said band that covered it.
Unavailabla a cover of The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion. Retarded.

The end of Youtube started. Maybe our way s should ...

Back again after being ridiculed.

idk if I already mentioned it but I like the cover of "its a mad world" (Gary Jules) --- I THINK that is a cover --- not positive maybe a one hit wonder?

Somehow it seemed (quite) a bit stand out from the rest of the catalog! (No offense to our gary jules ppl)

Yea I dig the original more too! "Tears of fear" now I gotta check out they catalog

^ Truly cool shit man. Shame about the Edinburgh playhouse; least ya made it there before they tore it down though! They tore down Tiger stadium and replaced it with Comerica --- Joe louis arena went down. Perhaps not a to scale comparison idk but I know the feeling of landmarks going away.

I will check that album out forsure!

Thank you for the insight

apologies. the playhouse is still there - the glasgow apollo was torn down in 1987.

man, it's fun to get nostalgic about some of the acts i've seen at the edinburgh playhouse: omd; depeche mode; the cult; meatloaf; tears for fears; chuck berry; bb king...

fwiw, i think the original is superior...

The cover is great in Donnie Darko, the mood fits. But you are absolutely correct-- the original is far superior on its own. Not even close tbh.
It's funny because they use the original Head over Heels in one of my favorite sequences of the film but then elected to use a cover for mad world. Again I think it makes sense , I wonder though if they would've done another rendition themselves had they been asked? That would've been cool.
