Does anyone here have any experience with Mysoline (Primidone)? What effects did they produce?

How comparable are they to alcohol/ghb/benzos?

I'm just found out we have them OTC here I'm about to pick up Mysoline (Primidone), which is not a real barb but gets metabolized to phenobarbital partially. I'm very curious about what I can expect and howmuch I should take. The tabs are 250mg.

What I'm mainly wondering is if they are good to potentiate tramadol or codeine? I read it induces CYP2D6 so I guess so but I'd like to hear some experiences from people familiar with the substance. Would be nice. Going to try one tab now with low doses of codeine and tramadol.

Thanks in advance!

So far I think it potentiates both tramadol and codeine quite a bit. (After some research and then trying it for myself.)

But I still can't find alot of info on it, people with experience please post!

(Also dosage info, how much can be dangerous, etc.)

I would think that it would potentiate codeine as primidone is a CYP2D6 Inducer, so it would likely speed up the metabolism of codeine to morphine. I would imagine that it would have similar effects on Tramadol's hepatic metabolism into O-Desmethyltramadol (which is a much stronger Mu opioid agonist than tramadol is alone).

Thanks zneg, confirmed what I was thinking and well, it definitely potentiates the crap out of tramadol & codeine for me. :)

It helps me reach a nod with these two weaker opiates a hell of alot easier than when I used to do that with benzos and weed and/or excessive doses. Now I'm still wondering about the potential dangers of this mix because some of the primidone gets metabolized to phenobarbital so I imagine there's quite a bit of CNS depression as I believe primidone itsself is a CNS depressant aswell? Anyone know how safe/unsafe it is?
