The pits of hell
I just got a phone call from my PCP saying they were dropping me for seeing multiple providers for narcotics. Before I went into pain management they made me sign a contract for 10 percs twice them 45 until I went to the first pain mgt dr who turned out to be a complete asshole so I went to a different pain magt dr. They told me the contract would be void when I got into pain mgt. I put on the contract that I go to my psychiatrist for xanax and klonopin.. they said fine. I got in with the second pain mgt dr and all was well. I had an appt tommorow morning for my B12 injection. Today I get a call telling me ive been kicked from the practice for obtaining narcotics from multiple sources.. WTF? They knew everything I was doing because I told them, and also they told me said contract with them was void when I got into pain mgt, I am in pain mgt and now this happens? What can I do about this?

in most states in the US there is (in the capital city) an office of the state insurance commissioner.
this would be a starting point in your attempting to rectify your problem .

I called my pain mgt dr and they said everything was fine and I did everything by the book. They wont be dropping me and they refferred me to a new primary care dr. So I guess my other dr's were just being assholes.

I'm honest with my doc.. to a certain point... i have two docs.. one for piate maintenance, and another for the rest (valium, xanax, meprobamate, cyamemazine, abilify), but you have to give them your consent to talk to eachother, otherrwise they can screw you over....

My primary doc had permission to talk to my psychiatrist and knew about him and my treatment, they also referred me to pain management. I was honest with all drs from the start. Even my pain management dr said I did everything by the book and she doesnt understand what the problem is. She is referring me to a different primary care dr so I guess that is good. One of the nurses in there hated me that might be what this is about.

Where are you at? If you're in the US and you didnt sign a consent for the PCP to see your records or whatever they used to get your records from the PMD then you should sue the fucking bastard

Those assholes actually called me today and asked if I would be at tommorows appointment for my B-12 injection. WTF? Really? My pain management dr reffered me to a dr that's a friend of hers and he is going to prescribe my B12 for me to inject myself so I don't have to go to the dr every month. I am so glad my pain management dr took my side she pulled my prescription records and said she didn't see anything out of the ordinary and the dr must be an asshole or just crazy. It's nice to have a dr in your corner especially when you're in the right. I feel blessed to have found this dr.

fatstep, I dont believe I did sign any consent form for them to check my records.

You can buy needles, alcohol wipes, and Vitamin B12 for injection, and do it yourself. :)

Sorry your PCP is being an ass. I was dropped for literally no reason either. Doctors are a dime a dozen where I come from.

Sorry to hear your doc was an ass too? What is up with being dropped for no reason? Perhaps they disagree with my anxiety and pain "treatments" but they could have been more professional about it. Do you need a script for the needles, or does the injectable B12 come with them? This is all new territory for me. Thanks! :)

I would agree with you there. Your old PCP sounds to strict for my tastes. I'm with a DO and the first thing he told me on our first appt was that he doesn't prescribe benzos, narcs or stims. I walked away from that appt w/ xanax, ritalin and vicoden. I was just honest with him and provided print outs from my insurance company of all the scripts I had filled and medical records of different treatment options tried. After that he was more receptive to me making recommendations for specific meds.

I also did every bit of research I could about the conditions I was being seen for and the benefits of different drug treatments. I have access to many case studies from a local university, so I was also 'up' on new styles of treatment, including those preferred by DOs.

I still haven't found an acceptable Pain Management Dr, I have issues with their universal 'let's start over' technique to treating pain.

Peace and love
