Off-topic, but what th hell...
I have seen one article, which stated that lidocaine has no cocaine-like effects on mood in healthy volunteers. But, I also read from the Journal of Psychoactive Drugs (vol.14(4) 1982, an issue dedicated to cocaine smoking) that "...lidocaine is a popular substitute [of cocaine] and has been found to have psychological effects similar to cocaine after intranasal application (Van Dyke et al. 1979). Cocaine smokers also report that the smoking of pure lidocaine is similar to cocaine free base".

One of my friend once IV'd lidocaine and said that it gave a rush like cocaine.
