Is the discussion of prices allowed at bluelight? For example, if there was a new designer drug that hit the streets is it OK to ask what a reasonable price for that substance would be?

There was one thread where prices were allowed in OD. It was discontinued by my understanding. Price talk is not allowed anywhere on BL atm by my understanding. It heads into sourcing and other problem areas to easily.

I can will double check on the discontinuation of the prices thread.

I found the current data on prices in OD. So no prices are allowed anywhere. A legitimate news article with prices could be quoted in Drugs in the Media. If a strong Harm Reduction reason could be found you could PM some mods and see if it woul be permitted in a thread. In general though no prices on BL.

ANNOUNCEMENT - Price Discussion Reminded
This is just a friendly reminder from your OD staff about rules and rule changes concerning price discussion.

2 ) NO DRUG PRICE THREADS Do not post threads asking about the price or availability of drugs. Do not list prices of any drugs anywhere in threads. Formerly we had an annual price thread where anyone could list drug prices for their location however this has been closed and NO DRUG PRICES are allowed anywhere. The only prices allowed are for harm reduction materials such as filters, bacteriostatic water and so forth.
So to be clear- absolutely no drug price discussion is allowed anywhere in OD and the only price discussion that is allowed is related to harm reduction materials. If you have any questions, contact myself or other OD staff.

^Do tell. The reasoning behind my answer is that I used to see threads closed with a referral to the OD thread as the one place on BL that prices were allowed. If a moderator team has a place they allow price discussion that's all good. Often times price threads have been provisionally allowed & then discontinued because the price thing too often led to members posting things that were sourcing. Sorry for any mis-info.

Price discussion is generally allowed in EADD and if the price thread(?) is still open in DC. Sometimes, leniencies are given when discussing things like prices for methadone and/or bupe, or other Rx's taken in non-recreational ways, since this can be viewed in an HR light.

Why is price-discussion allowed in EADD but not in the other regions? Actually we've gone back-and-forth on this one for a while among staff - some want uniformity, some want individual forums to decide on their own rules. So far, the latter has prevailed and EADD is the only region that agrees to be open with price-discussion.
