Preserving buds for long time?

I’m preserving buds by making green dragon (buds immersed in strong alcohol). I’m having some 4 years old gd and it didn’t lost any potency (and did get some other ‘awesome’ characteristics).

My question is what are the other ways of preserving buds for years and even decades?

Please don’t mention glass jars, vacuum-sealed baggies, freezing and similar. All those things will preserve nothing for any significant time.

well the first step for true preservation is to remove all traces of water and oxygen. so dehydrate your buds and vacuum-seal them and they should last quite some time. add brown glass (prevent oxidation by UV light) and deep freeze and the active compounds should last longer than you will. obviously the smokability will be compromised due to crispy dryness, but you can simply rehydrate with a fragment of orange peel for a couple of hours.
 
Evacuate your containers with nitrogen/co2, store in brown glass jar in a deep freeze.

Benefits: It doesn't lose strength over time to oxidation by the air.

Actually glass jars (Mason jars work best) and those vacuum sealed bags do work the best.

Learn how to cure your herb and these things do work.

Green dragon is fine if you like to consume herb orally in a drink but most people prefer to smoke herb.

Yes, I asked about non-immersed buds. I'm planing to preserve some to be smoked when my kids children are of age for smoking (in our family we all enjoy cannabis). I'm talking about 20 years+ of preservation. So I was wondering what would be the best way of doing it. I'm not sure that usual ways of preserving will work for 20+ years... that's why I asked.
 
Curing your bud in mason jars and storing them in there for extended periods of time improves the quality of your buds. Buds can be stored for years in mason jars.

I would look into getting a machine that allows you to hermetically seal them into a container for extended periods.
 
Why not just buy an ounce when your kid turns 16/18/whenever you see responsible enough.
 
man you would smoke buds like the Flinstones, smoke what you have...when you have children the weed in the future maybe genetically modified to be stronger, meaning smoking less and less harm for you and your children from less smoke consuption. I do not work on NASA nor am Scientist but pardon me, your idea si super stupid, how to preserve bud for more that 15 years!? smoke it and buy pot when they are ready to smoke...Cannabis is a lovable plant and I assure you that it is hardly ever going to be in danger of dissapearing
