in order for a water bong to be better than a joint, the water needs to filter out more undesired particles (tar etc) than desired (THC etc)

they found this isnt the case, you apparently need more smoke when using a water bong since it filters some of the desired particles, and it doesnt filter out as much undesired particles as you might think

I thought that was only a secondary advantage, I was always under the impression that the main purpose of the water in a billy was to cool the smoke down...

Oh - And good work MAPS :D. This is awesome news

not to forget LSD's potential in treating depression, or using its nootropic properties for alzheimer or parkinson
or what about schrooms treating ocd
lots of reseach still has to be done, fuck prozac :)

I think they mention several times one of the main reasons that psychedelics have a tough road ahead of them: They aren't designed for long-term use. Once the pharm companies start caring more about actually helping people instead of making billions, they will push for their legalisation. You would think they would already given that the illicit drug market is a multi-billion dollar industry.

^^^well, big pharma can legally distribute massive amounts of speed and benzos for various overdiagnosed psychiatric disorders. Also, I'm sure they turn a blind eye towards the diversion of prescription opiates to recreational use.
