So I've just got prescribed Metoprolol for some bad tachycardia I've had lately which I am not sure if it is related to opiate withdrawal and a bit of benzo withdrawal or what. But I've been using benzo's for my opiate withdrawal, mainly Ativan & Clonazepam but not high dosages, except for a few days of taking around 4-6mg Clonazepam. I kicked a 5 1/2 year benzo habit about 8 months ago now, but was using them these past two weeks or so for opiate withdrawal.
I also got prescribed 30 10mg Diazepam as well today. And I took 80mg of Diazepam today which I felt pretty good for about 2 hours or so, and then it sort of just wore off quickly. I must have extremely high tolerance to benzo's. I don't need another benzo habit, and am pretty scared.
But anyway, has anyone every taken the Beta Blocker Metoprolol for Tachycardia?
Is this Beta blocker habit forming? Like I'm prescribed 30 50mg pills.

Also - what about smoking while i'm taking this med?
