Yesterday I went with some friends for a mushroom hunt and found a lot of fly agaric red caps. Before putting them in the oven we chopped and blended them up then ended up drying them in the oven on 80 degrees Celsius for 2 hours. We all dosed 10 grams to start with and didnt really feel too much, we re dosed 20 grams and that we all got heaps ill and nauseas(one mate went to sleep) and the other just felt dizzy and not psychedelic/delirious along with myself.

My question is did we fuck up something n the prep which led to us to basically no effects apart from nausea considering our dosages according to the many forums I browsed were above par so to speak

Did you eat the whole mushroom? The red skin on the top is where most of the active compound is. Next time, try peeling off the skin from the mushrooms before you heat/dry them.

You might have just picked the wrong mushrooms. There are some that look similar to amanita muscaria. The forums at shroomery.org would be a good place for advice on hunting and identification.

We only used the caps, we chucked the stems. So you should only be using the peeled skins. That's something we'll try next time. Thanks mate
