I was wondering if anyone had experience with going from Pregabalin to Gabapentin. My goal is to get off Pregabalin, and using Gaba for the withdrawals. I have been on 200mg pre for a month or so, and tapered from 550mg.

I have 600mg Gabapentin tablets. Is it possible to take the 1200mg tablets/day of gaba for 2 weeks then quit altogether? I’ve read online 100mg pregabalin is approx. 600mg gabapentin

i was on 100 to 1000 mg per day of pregabalin for 5 years and had zero withdraw quitting cold turkey

you’re dependent after only one month?

In my experience they're effectively the same with only a few minor differences once you get into the higher dosing range. They are also not very effective depending on how you take them (most people piss most of it out without it doing anything). If you want to jump from one to the other to continue your taper that should be fine. But most likely you're at a point where you can jump off and won't have much trouble already. They are odd ball drugs that build tolerance so fast that I do not find them effective at all after using them for longer than one-two days anyway. So stopping them cold turkey has never been an issue. Perhaps any w/d symptoms I might have been having were masked by stronger w/d symptoms I was having from other drugs of abuse though (I typically only take them when combined with opioids, benzos and alcohol).

You could also do a slow taper with something like phenibut instead. But you'd be opening a whole other can of worms if you go that route.

200mg of lyrica per day is not a very high dose. I doubt you'll have any problems.
