Gabapentinoids Pregabalin for cocaine withdrawal?

Hi everyone, I have been a cocaine addict for around 3 years with a £60-80 habit a day, but now has come the time I have run out of funds and can not afford it anymore.

I usually find the withdrawal cravings really bad, and end up pestering people I know to lend me money constantly.

However, I am prescribed 600MG of pregabalin a day and had some tablets spare, so this morning instead of 300MG I took 3 capsules so 900MG, and within an hour I was very chatty with my Mum and I have managed to not have any cocaine today.

I feel this is due to the pregabalin, and wondered if anyone else has found pregabalin to help cocaine withdrawal?

I know I can't do this long term, but for around a week I may take this dose to get through the depression and cravings.

There's no such thing as cocaine withdrawal. Cocaine doesn't cause physical dependence, only psychological.

Cocaethylene however is highly addictive physically and unfortunately not much research has been done in to it.
Other than it's far more neurotoxic and cardiotoxic than cocaine and where as cocaine I think doubles the risk of sudden death syndrome for 72 hours after taking it, cocaethylene increases the risk of dying from sudden death syndrome by either 12x or 24x for 72 hours!

With cocaethylene addiction you also have the added fun of all the risks of alcohol withdrawal which includes potentially brain damaging and deadly Grand Mal seizures.

I know it isn't physically addictive, but am finding it very hard to stop. I feel like crap everyday until my first wrap.

I detoxed from alcohol on the 7th of October so am not at risk of the cocaethylene happening. During my first alcohol detox I had a alcohol withdrawal seizure and it was not nice being in that state, I was mentally terrified and hearing many things that were not there.

Serious Cocaine dependency is being treated with XR slow release Methylphenidate (Ritalin) as well as Vyvanse (Lisdexamfetamine)

Bupropion 150mg XR + Ritalin 60mg XR + Pregabalin 300mg .....would be Amazing for substituted Cocaine cravings

I would recommend Methylphenidate or Lisdexamphetamine (Vyvanse/Elvanse), together with L-Tyrosine, L-Dopa, and GABA. Cocaine is a dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin reuptake inhibitor, so you need substances that increase those neurotransmitters.

For Methylphenidate, only the very long-acting ones like:
  • Kinecteen
  • Concerta
  • Generica (important that the very long-acting ones always have the dosages 18mg/27mg/36mg/54mg) They act up to 12 hours, and I would recommend 54mg.
For Lisdexamphetamine, we only have:
  • Elvanse/Vyvanse This substance acts up to 14 hours, and I would recommend at least 60mg.
In addition, you should take L-Tyrosine to increase your serotonin, as well as L-Dopa for even more natural dopamine and GABA.
When you can't sleep, I recommend 1.8mg Melatonin LA (Long Acting) and CBD Oil.

Pregabalin makes you physically dependent very quickly, and the withdrawal is almost on the same level as Benzodiazepines, Phenibut, and Methaqualone/Quaaludes (and their analogues).
The same goes for all Gabapentinoids.

I will have to see if I can get some ritalin then, as I am really struggling at the moment.

I see, I will try and obtain those things as I want to be off of cocaine. Will the methylphenidate make me wired or anxious as I don't want that, I just want to be able to get through the hard times.

Also, how long will I feel like this for? I managed to stay off of it until 1:30 today, I usually have it when I first wake up. I am also waiting until 5:15 for my next bag as I am trying to space it out more and more, but I feel like I can't do anything while I am waiting for my next dose. My brain is foggy and I am just staring at the computer screen.

In my experience, Methylphenidate has a higher chance of triggering anxious effects than other stimulants. However, the strong long-acting Methylphenidate generics like "Concerta" are much smoother, so anxiety and paranoia should be minimal, especially since you already have a stimulant tolerance from cocaine.

If possible, I would recommend "Lisdexamphetamine" (Elvanse/Vyvanse) instead. It triggers significantly less anxiety and paranoia, and the comedown is much easier, although it lasts longer than Methylphenidate due to its extended duration of action.

Here are the stages of cocaine withdrawal:

Phase 1: The First 24 Hours
  • Extreme craving, anxiety, paranoia, dysphoria, depression, fatigue, low confidence, low self-esteem
  • You may relate to this phase
Phase 2: 1 - 14 Days
  • Stronger cravings, mood swings, aggression, exhaustion, sweating, aches, chronic pain, muscle spasms, mild sleep problems or easy sleep (depending on the person)
  • This phase is much harder, with all symptoms significantly increased
Phase 3: 2 - 4 Weeks
  • Strongest depression, suicidal thoughts and intentions, severe insomnia, intense cravings
  • I often refer to this phase as "the hell." It strongly depends on how long and how much cocaine you used
Phase 4: 4 - 6 Weeks
  • Regeneration, slight depression, return of REM sleep, sedation, muscle relaxation, mild mood swings
  • After a difficult month, your body starts to return to its original state
Phase 6+ Weeks: Regeneration
  • Congratulations!
Important: This is a collection of symptoms reported by users worldwide during their cocaine withdrawal. Some symptoms can last for months, years, or even indefinitely, like cravings.
Inform your Friends, Family and Doctor about your withdrawal trial, there should be at least one person that you need to contact everyday and give updates!! You need much support for a withdrawal!

Methylphenidate/Lisdexamphetamine can significantly reduce cocaine withdrawal symptoms. You can also combine them with caffeine pills (maximum of 100mg) and don't forget the supplements! I would also recommend having a blister pack with a maximum of 6 pills of Zopiclone or Zolpidem for insomnia and a maximum of 3 pills of Diazepam/Valium (10mg) for emergencies. If you take a Z-Drug, wait at least 4 days between doses, meaning a maximum of 2 times per week with Zolpidem/Zopiclone and Diazepam. They are only for emergencies. Use melatonin for sleep and CBD for anxiety and muscle spasms.

The dr gave me 20 x 10 mg APO methylphenidate PER DAY ** for cocaine substitute and to be honest it just gave me a whole new addiction. Being an IV addict as well this shit just clogged up all my veins and arteries im sure and after nearly a year and 2 ER visits I had to force myself off of them. Beware substituting drugs, while weening it’s important to stick to your plan… i know this doesn’t address the lyrica but the sentiment is similar

Wish you the best.

Yeah bro. 10 at a time usually . Fuckin shit was like melted wax; can’t imagine what I did to my veins
Use at least 0.2 micron micron-filters if you're gonna inject pills. It gets rid of all the binders such as talc.
I've done OxyContin and MSContin that way and been fine.

You said you've just came off alcohol. Using another GABAergenic drug (Pregabalin in this case.) will mean your body will very quickly get hooked cause you've already been dependent on a GABAergenic drug recently.

A mild amount of benzos should get out over the hump

Make sure to keep it mild though, if you get too benzotarded it'll make you think it's a good idea to buy more

Pregabs probably have a similar effect

I have been on 600MG a day of pregabalin for around 5 years, so already am dependent on them. Thank you for letting me know though.

I do have access to diazepam, I tried taking 50MG to get over the hump but ended up still buying unfortunately. I know 50MG is a lot but I had a high tolerance the other year and lower doses don't seem to do anything.
