Pregabalin, Benzo's & Strong Opiates

Quite, Brimzini old beany. To be fair, I didn't get to combine with any properly strong opiates and am not big on benzos these days at the best of times so was probably wasted on me. My DSP wants the doc to prescribe me 'em cos I'm supposed to be tapering off my benzos (and next even my bleedin' codeine :\) and pregas are currently all the rage cos they're neither addictive nor abusable... I wonder if even the drug companies feel a bit bloody silly trotting that auld chestnut our again?

Is entirely possible I just never got the dose, situation and/or combo sorted cos on paper - and from plenty personal testimony - they really should be my kinda thing.

I really do recommend the pregabalin + ketamine thing though, Brimz. Funny as fuck. May help if you put padding on any sharp corners before indulging and the like, mind. Stupidly entertaining though.

Tell me about it, Brimz. Not had a sniff of ket for ages round these parts now. Can get if I make the effort but have to go through a(n occasionally somewhat shady) middleman. Not casting aspersions but I struggle to believe that even the most arseholesque dealers don't try to pass off 0.3 as a gramme on a depressingly regular basis. So I gave up. Could probably do with the tolerance break anyway, I suppose. Pisser though cos I loves me ket :!

Thank the lawdy for cheap and widely available MXE sez I.

I'm prescribed pregabalin for anxiety. It certainly works for that, especially with benzos. It's probably helped me more than benzos have, if I'm honest. I find 450mg to be largest dose I can take, before stuff gets weird. It generally starts getting a bit trippy, and unpleasant, once I hit the 600mg mark. I dropped down to 1x150mg a day, from 3x150mg, because of the ridiculous weight gain (yes, it does make you eat like a bastard, and gain loads of weight). Never noticed any withdrawals from it, even when I ran out, and had to go a week without it. I did have diazepam on hand, though. It seems much less likely to cause withdrawals than benzos, anyway. Although, I've heard a few stories...

I've never done 'strong' opiates, but it certainly potentiates most downers, and can add to a nod. It's good for hangovers, if you have some before bed, and some on waking. It can allow you to sleep through the worst of it (again, a bit like benzos). I can imagine it potentiating ketamine, because it works by converting glutamate to GABA, so probably assists ketamine's antagonist effects at the NMDA receptor. :)

That's good news Treacle. They are talking about adding Pregablin to my olanzapine and sertraline. I've started back on the sertraline after a couple of months break. I suppose it had a slight effect. Fingers crossed for the pregabalin, but definitely NO BENZOS.They don't trust me with them. Anyone offered buspirone, say NO. They are as useful as a chocolate teapot. Oh try buspirone, for some they work, everyones different.

Do these kick in straight away so you don't have 27 years before you feel them?

im actually trying this combo now but just with pregabalin ( 900mg), couple of shitty 8/500 codeine/apap tablets, and a pyrazolam or three. makes me feel comfortable at least.starting to wonder about fybromyalgia.

fuck, I don't know. it is decent but tiring. at least my intestines are behaving nwo from the codeine and the pregabalin definately helps a lot. pyrazolam, well, its an odd one, short acting but moreish. better than etizolam by a long shot.

yeah totally. downers scare me though. iand i just want to be comfortbale, not fucked or dead.

yeah im not going there, ah7291 fucked me over bigtime and I lost a mate to the opiate/benzo/booze combo too. at least i dont drink ever (2 years next month since i touched booze). EADD is a rollercoaster, one minute its all laughs and the next its fucking depressing.

i had two pyrazolam a couple of hours ago, the pregablin definately does synergise and make me feel drowsy. im keeping this shit lightweight though I've seen what it can do to people.
