prednisone(sp?) and heroin

what's up guys. If you feel this would be better in health than please move it. but I do tend to trust my fellow seasoned ODers the most
all right I recently developed an illness and am taking prednisone
I am on my second day at 60mg this will go on for one more day than down to 50 for three days and so on
my question is there a counteraction with heroin. I have been clean for 4 days now( basically , I was too damn sick to go out and score )...but today I had someone deliver
Is there a certain line I shouldn't cross with these two chemicals or should I be fine?
I did about a half a bag and I feel better than I have all week;. I also wanted to add that the doctor also perscribed my usual bottle of tusionex to take with this medication...so I don't see any thing that damaging in the two
just a bit curious
oh yeah! if it matters
I am taking the prednisone every 24 hours and my last dose was 7 and a half hours ago

I don't really need a scientific explanation, just maybe someones expiriences with it!
BTW I'm working on my second bag now and I see no side effects,...I think this is all the farther I am going to push it tonight, just finish off the second bag...i will have the answer in the morn, in case anyone else was wondering about this

it actually seems to be combating my illness very well, I might just feel alot better because I'm not dopesick also now though

you are fine combining the two. should be no ill effects.

Be careful! Prednisone will probably intensify the effects of any opiates you do. Start with a low dosage, especially as you are on a rather high dose of prednisone.

i am usually on prednisone 3-5 times a year, and i have never noticed any opiate intesification.

To help clear things up a bit, I too was once on Prednisone. I often dosed heroin while taking Prednisone, and as best to my knowledge never experienced anything out of the ordinary.
I can't say I ever noticed any intensifying effects caused by Prednisone, so you should be fine using them simutaneously. However I wouldn't just jump right in, I would probably still kinda get a feel for it just to make sure, you can never be too safe.
Negro-kitty I would be interested if you could post something about this, it could very well be true, but as I said, I never experienced anything abnormal. Thanx

yeah! your submissions seems to hold true..I am down to 40mgs of prednisone a day now and haven't expierienced any negative side effects
On the other hand I do tend to lead to the point that the steroids do potentiate the opiates a bit. Not really signifigantly, but some.
I believe that it is due to the fact that the heart is working faster and harder on the prednisone. but I really don't have solid eveidence.
I am researching this though and will report back with my findings
BTW, I'm feeling superb. and chaulk up one point for the good guys! I visited my doc today for a follow up visit and walked out with 180ml of tussionex with a refill...
(Anyone know the hydrocaodone content in this, I have been looking everywhere and they don't seem to have exact numbers...However from dosing the stuff, I am lead to believe that it is between 10 and 15mgs per 5ml)
...and he said he also wants me to try the hycodin pills again!...so I got a script for 30 of them too....damn I never thought being sick could be so goooooooooood!....
