I don't usually talk about this but for years I've had some kind of precognition going on. Usually, within my dreams but sometimes while awake. It's never anything useful usually. I'll dream about a situation then it'll play out days-months later in waking life while I get an overwhelming sense of deja vu. A few times I've experienced it with other people that claimed it was happening to them as well. Like one day I was walking through an unfamiliar yard with a friend and got that feeling, remembered I'd dreamed about this exact thing a few days before and unprompted my friend said "We've been here before" then we spent the next few minutes kind of mind fucked about it.
Outside of dreaming I have this stupid ability sometimes where I can predict things like a commercial I've never seen before playing on a television or radio. Or other useless information like that. It's never really anything useful. Still odd. I thought for years it was just a result of being around radio/TVs playing in the background that I wasn't paying attention to and learning the schedule of the daily programming without being aware of it. But I continued being able to do this despite going cold turkey off TV and radio at home years ago. At most I'm around a TV maybe 3 days a month now. Yet I can still "predict" things that will appear on it sometimes even though I've never seen the content before.
For the past several months I've been having a reoccurring dream where I'm on a mountain top during a full moon and something comes out of the dark that attacks and kills me. I never see what it is. At first it was pure ambush I didn't see coming but lately I've been trying to look for it. Dream has been happening bi-weekly lately and I'm usually fully lucid in it now. Actively scanning the woods around the area I'm standing in with a light. Whatever it is always manages to sneak up behind me and take me down with a swift blow to the back of the neck/head. Next time I'm going to try putting my back to the cliff and waiting for it.
In the dream it's always a night of a full moon. So the top of the mountain is well lit. There is an old fire watch tower in a cleared area then very dense dark woods surrounding the entire area. I've yet to find a path off the mountain. As far as I know I've never been on that particular mountain before in waking life.
Sometime soon I will somehow end up on top of a mountain during a full moon (or near a full moon) and get murdered by what I can only assume is a man, a cougar or a big foot. I'm mainly only posting this so when it does happen there is proof that I saw it coming.
The next full moon is the first of May and ironically I'd had a hiking trip planned for that date for many months now (since last Fall when the park closed). The mountain I plan on climbing I'm familiar with and doesn't look like the same one in my dreams. I also do not plan to be up there after sunset. I do plan to get fairly inebriated and I've been out on that trail well after dark in the past when the day ran shorter than my trip. So maybe I'll end up there after dark.
Going to go anyway and see what's up.
For whatever reason something has been drawing/calling me to the mountains more than usual lately. Maybe it's because I didn't go out at all last year. But I've also been planning a trip overseas for the last 6 months which will mostly consist of hiking up and down mountains for two-three months. The country I'm going to has endless stories about mountain gods/ghosts/creatures and travelers interacting with them. So maybe I'll offend something while I'm there who knows.
It's tempting fate but I'm probably going to plan a night hike every full moon this summer if I'm able. I don't think I can really do anything to avoid it so I might as well go face it head on.
