I'm about to be prescribed these. I have been told that they (particularly pregablin/lyrica which I will most likely get due to Gabapentins ridiculous list of side-effects) can be euphoric and help with anxiety or make you feel good? But NHS sites makes them sound horrible.

I'm prescribed it for pain btw.

Anyone take lyrica/pregablin? What's it like? Anyone have any experiences with it, positive or negative?

It made my restless leg syndrome and symptoms of fibromyalgia/chronic fatigue worse over time but was only most noticeable after I stopped taking it. This was over the course of about a year of on/off usage

the withdrawal is comparable to opiate wd for many people, so in my books it's pretty evil so tread carefully. Some people report though that it helps their pain/chronic fatigue etc. and doesn't worsen it over time so it might be your bag.

It depends on how you react to it.

If you are already abusing GABA type drugs, 9/10 you are going to feel withdrawal. (Alcohol, benzos, barbs, etc...)

I for one was taking 600mg a day with absolutely no problems. It dramatically helps opiate withdrawal.

I'm prescribed 300mg a day for pain caused by a compressed spine. I find this dose works well for me. I don't get any euphoria at this dose, nor do I get anxiety relief. When I take it recreationally however, I take a significant amount more, and I get insane euphoria, no anxiety, just overall happy with how things are going. I don't know what a good dose for recreational use would be. I've been on lyrica for years so my recreational dose is quite high, and I'm not disclosing it due to the fact I know if I did people would try it and who knows what could happen to someone with no tolerance.

I'm prescribed 3200 mgm of Gabapentin per day for pain. I tried Lyrica and it provided no more relief than Gabapentin and was way more expensive. I feel northing except a slight reduction in pain. Initially I felt somewhat tired, but that wore off quickly

Fantastic for opiate WD.

Pleasant buzz if used infrequently. Both in high doses 300-600mg. Kind of floaty, drunk-like feeling. Confident and euphoric.

Tolerance builds rapidly. Effects diminish. Addictive and created dependency. Definite WDs.

Use occasionally to keep the desired effects noticeable and avoid addiction.
