"Canoeing" describes when a joint doesn't burn evenly and one side remains unburnt while the other burns down.

I've been using J-Ware pre-rolled cones, both king size 120mm and regular 98mm. The 98mms don't canoe nearly as bad, but sometimes with the bigger ones, smokeable weed falls off.

I always make sure to pack it very tight. This doesn't happen so much with handrolled joints. What's the deal? Is there a cone I can use that doesn't canoe so bad?

thats cos you pack a cone, you roll a joint.

you roll it evenly (ideally) but a cone your just filling it up. I notice sometimes when i roll a joint, if i sit and pack the end sometimes the end doesnt wanna burn evenly.

I always called it boating tbh

one less syllable than canoeing

and canoeing is just weird to say, the -oe ending part makes adding an -ing sound weird

Id just roll your own if they dont have the same problem.

Around here we say the joint is "running" when the ember starts to run down the joint. I usually say "that joints growin legs" or something to that effect. I never did enjoy the cones as much as a good handrolled doob, although they do hold a lot if youre a really heavy smoker.

does anybody know why it's called canoeing? I've always called it that too and heard everyone else say it but does anybody know why? Maybe I'm just missing something obvious?

Check out Cyclones man. theyre dope as fuck and always burn great. taste amazing, got a nice crutch inside too. Pack exactly half a gram.

My cones also run sometimes when I smoke them. I like to just lick my index and thumb finger and wipe a bit of saliva below the part that is burning the fastest..it will eventually catch up to itself :)

Learn how to roll a proper spliff, put a roach-the rolled up piece of cardboard at the beginning of the spliff, and avoid thick paper. If you smoke hash heat it so it isn't completely solid and crumbles properly, and if you smoke herb grind it, or cut it up very fine.

IMO the whole trick to getting a anything to burn nice and proper happens before you ever even start rolling or packing.. you have to break/cut the weed up perfect.. make sure the weep is processed down to a small uniformly sized miniature pieces, not dust but really tiny pieces.. and for taste and to make it a smooth as possible I'm kinda a freak but i remove any and all stem material i can.. even tiny shit thats sticky from inside the bud. If you do this and have any rolling skills at all and are able to twist with uniform pressure applied to the entire work.. then that shit will burn more uniform than a Marby Red. Also if you use saliva to seal, let it dry or moisten the other parts.

The best solution would be to learn to twist em up yourself. I find actual rolled joints will always smoke better and more even than some hollowed out tube you just pack green into. It really doesn't take that long to get decent if you just practise.
