Been lurking a bit ever since I started on this shit, but today I got a sort-of wake-up call that something is sort of... amiss. I just... can't... stay... awake. :|

I'm sort of half-chronicling, half-inquiring, about what's going on here. As with everyone that's done it, I sniffed a bit of crystal and had an unbelievably awesome lift. It was a great way to spend a weekend... I got a ton of shit done on the weekends with a little sniff in the morning and maybe one later in the afternoon/evening. Then I'd happily crash out a little late, maybe 3am. One Sunday, though, I had a little "peer pressure" and burned through the whole night on a sniff. One more sniff in the morning and I lifted my way through the Monday work day. That was the best Monday I'd had in a while. It was a reliable lift and I LOVED it. And unlike most tales I'd read of meth, any time I came in contact with my bed, I would doze off perfectly normally (as long as I wasn't feeling, you know, "right off the rush").

Next thing I know, I found myself counting on it as a "oops! I stayed up too late, time to rescue the work day!" crutch. And a "Weekend! Fuck yeah, time to enjoy life" lift as well. I'd drive to work with that nasty taste running down my throat, wishing I'd had something to drink. Mornings would start off with me subtly maintaining my slightly drippy nose. But it would be OK... I'd make it through the day. Lately I started to go home exhausted and tired, and need another lift to make it through the day. I'd get to sleep at a typically normal time, getting about 6-7 hours of sleep as usual. Mornings I'd wake up, feeling more "awake" than I normally do (before our good friend Smash and Sniff came along), but with a lingering feeling of tiredness in the background that I knew would come out (down, rather) within an hour. Smash smash, sniff sniff... OK, beginning the work day...

"Powered by Meth™". Today, I did the now-almost-routine morning sniff... and it only lasted about the first hour, just barely though breakfast. Then I was feeling sluggish again, irritated by relatively minor things, uninspired, un-energetic, just "depleted". I went home dead tired, had a decent lunch, sluggishly opened up the "stash can" and smashed up another little bit. Not 1 hour later, I was down again. Hesitantly, I went for another lift. That's when I realized... what the hell happened? I'm struggling to find the words to write here, just too damn tired.

Obviously I need a break from this shit. I really enjoy having the "lift" when I need it, and the amazing things it does for my otherwise somewhat uninspired personality. I just want it to be that way again... not this "awake for an hour" crap... I don't want to be "powered by meth"! I just want to, you know... fly with it, when I want to fly ;)

Methamphetamine is a powerful drug man, and it seems as you are experiencing and recognizing the severe psychological pull it can have over someone. Also with increased use tolerance skyrockets, and the experience gets shorter and shorter over time, and eventually you get more and more negative effects and less and less positives.

I don't have any experience with meth but if I were you I would seriously try and quit while you are ahead (literally) before it spirals too far out of control. You'd be surprised how fast shit will hit the fan when you have a solid daily drug habit. I went thru all of it with opiates, and wish I could have quit when I was in the same spot as you.

Now, this isn't Other Drugs material.. Please don't take this personally but I am going to have to close this. Stuff like this is better suited for your journal. Also, if you are seeking help with any kind of addiction/mental problems of any kind, check out The Dark Side section of bluelight. Also check out the BLUA and other drugs guidelines to familiarize yourself with the rules around here.

If you have any questions or anything don't hesitate to private message myself or any other staff members.

Thanks

Mike
