What is Pot or Not?

You submit; you click the sticky-icky thread, you drool, you vote, rinse, lather and repeat. That's basically it, Pot or Not is just for fun and the ratings are more or less arbitrary, but here are some rough guidelines to help you decide how to vote:

A - That next-level stuff even the stingiest pothead would pay the premium to get a bag of!
B - Better than what you'd call regs/mids, no unicorn but no lame ass either
C - Commercial stuff, possibly well-trimmed and cured, but also maybe just torn up at the roots by some dude on meth
D - Schwag, Mexican brick, soapbar, etc!

How to submit

Pot or Not depends on your submissions to stay alive, but for the sake of our viewers the selection will be limited to pictures that look like they were taken with a camera manufactured in this century. High resolution shots are a must, but that shouldn't be a problem now that even cell phones have 5MP+ cameras! Snap a pic that shows off your green as best as possible (good lighting) and upload that bitch to a BL-friendly imagehost such as imgur.com. Once you've got that, just forward the image link to the mods and we'll punt it to the top of CD to get A+'d into glory or stomped into oblivion! Give us your schwag, give us your regs, it doesn't matter whose bum the bag was pulled from just give us some nice variety to post and have fun with the voting :)

Haha not to be a dick, but this bud was definitely better than the Kosher Tangie you were complaining about when anyone voted anything but an A ;)

In other news... people, submit some photos! There's no reason we should have so few submissions on a message board this big.
 
My pics barely did it justice, but I'm not compairing. It's nice resinous bud, but the resin heads seem to be mostly rubbed off dropping it a grade. Not trying to dicksize just giving my honest opinion. To be A grade it has to be handled very little.
 
You missed my point. I honestly don't even care what people rate my bud, as that's not why I submitted. When good ol' Thujone made mention of the low number of submissions I felt compelled to help out, so I just took pics of what was left of the two strains I happened to have on hand at the time after cooking some tasty peanut-budder. Meticulous critiquing was definitely expected.

I can however assure you that trichomes haven't been "rubbed off", as you would be vwry hard pressed to be able to do so with this bud without smooshing it and even then I would be surprised if any remarkable amount were to be lost rather than compressed. These nugs were also never handled by me with the exception of this photo.

Anyways, what I meant by my post was that you seemed to get rather upset when people would give your bud an A- or lower, so when I read "this could easily be a B in my book" in regards to an arguably superior bud I couldn't help but find your post kind of ironic.

Keep in mind I do realize that some were being rediculous with your submission and rating everything but the bud, which if I'm being honest was a motivating factor in my A rating, but still... I found some humor in your post. I hope you didn't take offense though. Your photo was clear enough for me to scope out what you were working with, however.

Rubbing of trichs happens a lot during harvest and trimming, there isn't much you can do to prevent it, but it makes for great scissor hash!

I can see where tacodude says they looked rubbed, and this may have been completely accidental (again it happens naturally), and I diffinately see a trichome shortage in this bud when I compare it to taco's Kosher Tangie.

However, sense I am very familiar with this hybrid cross (I've grown Master Kush, Bubble Gum, Pre-98 Bubba, etc) so I really like the genetics which bumps up the grade slightly for me.

If anything I'm irked you assume I'm so petty and anal to be upset on comments on buds I picked up at a collective as if my work was insulted. Anyways I'll stop derailing letting you get personal. I look forward to seeing more rates

Edit: Does saying B+ make it better for you as I meant to type that. Phone keyboards are annoying. In no way is it not above average or quality, but it's not exceptional. I wouldn't even call my bud A+ and barely A. If the genetics were better it would be more resin, but it's definitely a taste bud vs strength. Just saying.

Edit 2: The kosher tangie was also the cheapest eigth from my collective..... For the price people would have shit bricks.

Dude, you were without a doubt getting upset when people were rating your bud any thing but an A... I don't even think that's arguable. The first half of your thread was an arguement about your "poor" (they weren't exactly bad at all) ratings, nothing personal but a spade is a spade. This threads turned into a shit fest 8(, guess I shouldn't have said anything, duly noted. The problem was never about the rating though, I was just pointing out your... ugh nvm lol.

I voted an A, the submissions so far have all been pretty top notch, especially when compared to most of what goes round in my neck of the woods!

I took some photos on my shitty phone not long ago and they weren't clear enough to be worth submitting at all, my brother just got a new smart phone so I might see if I can borrow it and get a few decent snaps as I happen to be onto some really nice stuff at the moment.
 
It looks like pot to me, solid A grade pot. You should sometimes post some soapbar, gritweed, mouldy buds & other assorted shit sometimes, might help some people to not get ripped off.

I figured there would be all sorts of submisssions. Surely a large portion of bluelight resides in CA, right? I'm hoping to have some submissions soon. I would have one now but it's a tastey no name strain that someone felt the need to compress into the most dense brick of headies that you've ever seen.

Anything is worth uploading..... There's even been request for Bobby brown and seedy hemp brick. There needs to be some d..... Having all B+ and A seems like a big circle jerk rather than connoisseur viewing a variety of cannabis and rating it.


What would be interesting is ratings or discussions on origins of genetics basically indica, sativa, indica dom hybrid, sativa dom hybrid, even hybrid mix, and even rubble rhuderalis influence.

Not just all of us sitting around saying "look how good my pock... erm pot is!." Not saying we haven't had beautiful l submissions I just like to know more genetics.
