I was looking at Government Safety Posters designed to make you stop taking drugs and E.

After looking at various ones I couldnt help noticing that they didnt seem to cut it.

They all had this great art of annoying me and making me want to rebel in some way.

The only poster that I found amusing was the "Narcs Can Dance" POSTER 4. However, it still didnt make me feel the desire to stop taking E.

I am very interested to hear opinions from other BL members.

If you saw one of these posters in your neighbourhood would it make you stop taking E??

haha. Those are actually pretty funny. And, ya know, narcs might be able to dance, but they sure as fuck can't fake the "Not a douchebag narc" vibe. Funniest thing is, at festivals/huge concerts/raves, there are so many people with drugs that if someone even seems a tiny bit shady, fuck it, just move on to another source. Take a minute to hang out and talk. If they don't want to, or are trying to grab your money and jet, or are super insistent on getting you to commit to buying (i.e. dropping price, upgrading size for price, etc.)... there are plenty of cool people with genuine shit that will watch you take what they sold and want to see you get proper fucked up, because they're not ripping you off or trying to bust you.

LOL, sad thing is how corrupt it makes the Government look. Putting deaths, dangers, science and research all out of context and misportrayed.

Fuck it lets make a poster displaying the risks of peanut consumption. Take an anecdote where someone ate one peanut, had a horrible reaction and died.

Caption: '1 Peanut is all it can take!'

[Death bed picture]

Caption 2: 'Want to risk it?'

Fucking pathetic. The Aus ones are the worst, I can barely look at them without getting angry.

Lol @ poster 6, of course id rather take Ketamine, MDMA or Meth than eat some ecoli ridden food. Get high vs getting sick as fuck. Hmmmm tough choice...

I say we make some pro drug posters and send them to the government. Or at least one contradicting there bullshit ones with true hard facts!

wait so in america they'll have a police officer selling drugs and then arresting people who buy them?

isn't that entrapment or whatever?

the entrapment laws are strange. Some states have them, I belive most do not. Even if there are entrapment laws in place in your area theres some strange thing where you have to ask if they are a cop... I don't know im not lawyer, I'm sure some one will come on here and clear this up.

awesome!!

that poster and your comment just made me laugh so hard

Most of the time the Narcs are trying to buy the drugs, not sell them. They try to go for dealers.

In order to be considered entrapment the following conditions must be met: the idea for the crime must have come from police, the police must have persuaded the person into committing a crime, and the person was not willing and able to commit a crime before interacting with police

So yeah, lots of wiggle room for the prosecution to work with various buying and selling scenarios

Yah usually narcs are undercover cops that will ask you if you got any ecstasy with a pink smiley t-shirt, they usually sound very sketchy it's quite easy to spot them. First off they are retarded and use the word ''ecstasy'' no clever dealer will ever sell you stuff if you approach them like this. It's kinda like the undercover cops for marijuana, they gonna have lika Pink Floyd shirt they always try too hard to fit in... and it makes them obvious.

OP: Those posters just gave me a good laugh, scare propaganda seems to be their number one tactic.

^^ Nice lab picture Folley where did u find that.

Its interesting when you look at the majority of 'lab' pictures they are always illustrated as total chaos and extremely dirty. Its a similiar tactic where the cops and government always seem to forget everyone has google and a mobile phone. :)

The drain cleaner NaOH is an interesting propaganda tactic also as the majority of drain cleaner is just simply 100% Sodium Hydroxide.

As I understand it Red Devil Lye in the USA has ceased manufacture now due to the bad press Red Devil were getting with meth labs.

Interesting to see these posters all seem to have the same effect on everyone. TOTAL INSULT TO ONES INTELLIGENCE.

a lot of these posters are indirect arguments against prohibition

^^ That is so true.

Not so sure about a Narc being so obvious however :)

I am always amazed when I watch on TV the USA cops setting up distribution buy busts etc. Seems like such a weird law where they can create a crime and then arrest those who participate. Many could argue without the cops there would be no crime. Although you could also argue they are sniffing out the bad guys.

Whats annoying is taking a look at the number of deaths/injury from ecstasy compared to drinking and smoking - which by the way are taxed by the government to make money, thousands of people are dying daily from smoking, hundreds from alcohol yet what at most only a few from ecstasy use a month. If they used their resources properly and instead of attempting to scare people out of using the drug and educate them on safe use, people will be better off becuase at the end of the day they can do all they want but MDMA and all other drugs for that matter will always be around.

Poster number 8 had potential, but then they took it to the ridiculous extremes and tried to scare people with brain damage and sleeplessness.. something that will really only happen if you take adulterated product or use it irresponsibly.

What they should do is inform people of the Serotonin system, and let them know that MDMA and similar drugs release massive amounts of serotonin, and that ample time is needed after a roll to counteract the inherent neurotoxicity that comes from ingesting a serotonin releasing chemical.

There are plenty of serious risks and complications of taking MDMA... why the fuck do they have to make up these lies?

I mean, shit. The Australian government could ask volunteers on Bluelight to create a poster and we would happily make some amazing HR pieces for free.... how much money do you think they wasted on these pieces of trash?

^^ I agree poster 8 is by far the one that has some kind of impact. Definitely the most effective.

For poster 6 to be plausabe it would have to lose the sandwich, lose the camp fuel, lose the drain cleaner add piperazines, RCs, Hallucinogens and I think I might get the message. Oh yes and lose the patronising catch phrase LOL.

Having said that, after reading so, so, SO many sad reports of the results of mdma (or thought-to-be) mdma abuse here on Bluelight,

I am afraid to say this is SO TRUE I think a poster rather than being a "Just Say No Statement" should be a "We know your going to say yes. but... this is what might happen" Let the user make the decision with the information provided.

Not tell the user what decision to make with false and lack of information.

Thats my theory anyway.

Thanks for all the feedback so far folks making for very interesting reading.

I would be certain government officials and law enforcement read this forum. Would be great to get the message back to the people who make these posters and provide this information.

There are plenty of serious risks and complications of taking MDMA... why the fuck do they have to make up these lies?

Super valid point Mr Folley :)

I think a Bluelight Poster Competition might be in order..

I think the Australian Campaign was something like 30 million Aussie Dollars.

This would make a just say no Poster: :D

I agree with this, although one thing I would like to see is those three statistics lined up in a row with one common denominator with the death to user ratio and the death has to be connected with either an overdose or abuse. (i.e. alcohol - 3/100, tobacco 8/100, mdma 2/100 [Numbers are completely made up!!!].) Now sadly I can guarantee that no one will ever see this because well, its almost impossible to track and why would the government want people to know that more people die from smoking tobacco every day than die from mdma.
