I was plugging my synth into Reason via MIDI, using it as a keyboard for Reason's instruments...So basically it was just a keyboard. Now I can actually use my synth...as a synth! =D

Posted this in the electronic thread also... but i promise, I'm not spamming. It falls into the alternative category as well. Industrial/electronic/alternative/triphop
Its my solo project called "Commercial Camp", first album entitled Hindsight. Took me about a year to produce. Home studio and all that stuff.

EDIT: Also, feel free to trip right the fuck out to some of our music videos. I cant claim credit for the animations themselves but did do a fair amount of editing to make sure they fit with the beat. http://www.youtube.com/user/commercialcamp

And ill also toss in my comedy rap/rock/wtf project that me and a buddy do for fun "The Calming Pants" (Oblivion/Shivering Isles reference). All of our albums (this is the 4th, 5th is in production) have titles that have something to do with pants. 1) Freshly Pressed 2) Corduroy Logistics 3) Three Piece Suit... and this, the fourth, is entitled Britches, Bitches, and Riches. The fifth album will be called "Grown Men in Skinny Jeans"
So, for your listening pleasure, an album filled with weed references and dick jokes.

By the way, both of these albums are free to download and have hidden tracks and album art. I'm just that fucking cool. Looking forward to checking out what bluelight musicians have to offer.

Properlessener (dim)...

i listened to this one by the way

I've been lazy as shit man. Still only using an iphone with the built-in mic to record on my end. I finally got around to getting a full copy of Cubase though. So I'll get to it very soon.

"Reminds me of solo Syd Barrett crossed with Kurt Cobain. I love the sound you have on the acoustic. I do not like the bright metallic acoustic guitar you usuall…" I don't either. It's because it's the only acoustic I have anymore. It's the worst guitar ever, but really easy to play on. The action is like an electric. I need all new gear.

"Syd Barrett crossed with Kurt Cobain." You nailed that shit pretty well.

Just listening to "How is the Weather" right now. This is so good. You've inspired me to setup proper.

The recording quality on "Let It Grow' is crap in comparison, but I like the song for sure.

Through the years I have learned to love cheap guitars. I love my cheap ass bass that I drop all the time and it never loses tune, and I love cheap parlor acoustic guitar (the one I am thinking of sounds like yours)....and love the 60s Bob Dylan acoustic guitar sound, all mid-rangy and with no metallic brighness.

Re: Let It Grow (demonstration/scratch track)

That was all just scratch track, although the gear used I used to record both songs is the same. I suspect the vast sound difference is because that "Let It Grow" was never mixed properly, just a quick listen and probably made the 2track in headphones. In fact, if you are really bored you can check out 'early mix' of the Weather song vs what I loaded last night....one was a demo mix from a month ago and the other I spent a few hours perfecting last night. The sound is pretty different even though both come from the same multi-master.

I was actually going to hunt hard for the Let it Grow work I did, it has to be on another hard drive or something, it is unusual for an entire session to up and vanish. I never have been a fan of my voice (unless singing to Lou Reed, it's uncanny then), but I really like the way I did that song. It's hard to hear the instrumentation over sound-cloud but I like the aggressive bass, and I enjoy the distortion guitar (which is really buried in this mix) juxtaposed to the clean telecaster guitar. If I can't find the multitracks I will spend some time equalizing it to bring out the other elements.

Ya, I guess the guitar sounds fine. It's just because I don't multi-track nor do any production to it.

Oh ya, there's a world of difference on the two "How's the Weather" tracks. Heeps more depth, and things such as that electronic ripping frames per second sound burst through properly.

You can always send me wave files of the recordings, preferably in the same resolution they were recorded in, and I can make em as good as the recording allows me to. If the information is in the recording, then it is just a matter of bringing it out and reducing the noise and mud.

My sonic meditations. Psychedelics are strongly recommended for your listening pleasure! ;)
I'll warn you that it's all improvised and very rough.

Click the image to travel. I hope that you all enjoy!

Let me know what you think! :)
