We just arrived home from 10 days at Fraser Island (QLD)... had the most AWESOME TIME!!! Thought i'd post a few pics from the trip.

This is Mr Samadhi and I at Lake MacKenzie:

This is Lake MacKenzie...one of the most gorgeous lakes i've ever seen. It is completely fresh water (read: you can drink it as you are swimming) and is so deep, the bottom has yet to be found. The water is so pure, that no flora or fauna can be sustained.

This is a photo of Eli Creek. It is the largest freshwater creek that flows into the ocean. You can walk quite a distance up the creek, but a large part of it has been closed of for regeneration reasons. It pours out approximately 80 megalitres of water daily.

This is one of the many dingoes on the island, we came across so many, they came right up to the door of our apartment.

This is a pic of us at Eli Creek. You could pretty much park your car at the edge of it, set up camp and just hang either in the creek, or 50m away in the surf. When we weren't trekking around the island, we spent our time at Eli.

Sorry for the non-person photos, but it's been so long since i've been to Fraser, and i was just blown away by how beautiful it is. So much so, we've already booked another 2 week holiday there over xmas/new year!

Mrs S :)

^ I bet she'd drink you under the table if you gave her half a chance ;)

Wow to Samadhi (Mr or Mrs). Australia at it's best...

I've encountered many a dingo in the wild and not one of them has tried to eat my non-existent baby...

Exactly... dingoes have been given a bad name. Sure, they are unpredictable, but if you follow the instructions on how to (not) deal with them, they leave you alone. They are by nature, curious creatures, and, as i said in my previous post, got very close to us, but if you handle the situation well, you'll have no problems. I was lucky in that i spent most of my childhood on farms, having to deal with working dogs, that can be very wild. My uncle gave me great advice, and i now stand my ground and act aggressive...which is how you're supposed to deal with dingoes. The problem is wanker backpackers and johnny no-stars feeding them all the time, and leaving scraps out. Grrrr.

That, and don't let you little children walk around alone, if you have any. (common sense would dictate that anyway, yeah?)

Anyway, had no problems with the dingoes, they're awesome in my book.

Great pics Samadhis!! I didn't get to see any dingoes while we stayed on Fraser.

We did however, have goannas visit our camp site :)

I only saw one goanna myself, on the last day we were there!:

And here are a few more:

The Mehino, looking a bit worse for wear now.
