I'm still trying to get into the new album. Its almost too Florence & the Machined-out for me.
 
i've only listened to/owned one fiona apple album ever, and that's tidal. i couldn't even get past the first song on when the pawn...
 
^When The Pawn is my favourite.

I'm actually a recent convert. I overlooked her music all these years, but I just kinda fell in love with her last album. Now I'm totally obsessed with all her recordings. I think she's awesome. <3

I've also recently got into Juliana Hatfield after overlooking her for probably the same amount of time too. It's funny how things change and go in circles.

Well, my favorite album of hers is You Are Free and this is pretty far removed from it, much more electronic based. And yet, I definitely dig it. It's not somber like her early stuff but it's still very much Cat Power. I'd love to see her live one day; enjoy.
 
Just curious, but was You Are Free the album that got you into her music in the first place?. You should see her if you get the chance. I've only seen her twice, and she was kinda messy both times. But she seems to have her shit together a lot more these days.

My favourite is Moon Pix btw.

Between Bill and Laika this place couldn't possibly contain any more homoerotic tension - we need some girls to even things out.

Moon Pix might be my second favorite. One day I said, 'I've heard a lot about this Cat Powers something or other. Let me check it out.' So I got like four or five albums at once and You Are Free stood out the most to me. Especially once I heard Werewolf. I fell in love with Cat Power after that song, even though it's a cover. And I don't really care for her album of cover songs fwiw.

As strange as this sounds, I'd prefer to see her perform schwasted.
