last.fm is good because I like seeing my play count and what I've really been listening to. It doesn't take into account youtube or my mp3, but the scrobbler is sweet because it backs up my library.
If my HD were to crash and I couldn't retrieve a playlist, I could use my last.fm account to account for the bulk of what I listen to.
If something else serves the same purpose (next best thing seems to be lacking the good quality of play count and display of different times.

Fyi, you can get a scrobbler for youtube. I don't like it, personally, because it won't include album info etc. It's scrobbled as the name of the youtube video, which kind of misses the point of using last.fm.

Lol yeah.. There are some things in this life that just cannot be scrobbled. I've learned to accept that a few years ago. Fucking CDs.

thanks for the tip but as laika has pointed out, I wouldn't want my youtube scrobbled. Youtube has it's own history, plus any artist I discover and like enough won't continue to be heard through youtube.

my tags. they are all band related in some way (i.e. "infested" is a choking victim song, it's my punk tag), i hated trying to tag "adult alternative? trip hop?" so i made my own system which i think works better.
