I can't believe this hasn't been posted.
Eric Clapton
Cocaine
Ah but you reminded me in The perpetual segue of song to song that I go into when I start listening to music of a song that surpassed JJ cales original cocaine which we’re not going to go into that LOL… And is by far the best, version of cocaine -
a different version by the way and if you have not heard, they even released a rehab version since it’s been so many years (with Warren zevon…)
I know the verve originally did this one but I’ll always prefer my 1st introduction by Ben Harper but not the famous live version - I love the studio which isn’t easy to find. Normally most often as far as acoustic v studio versions I’m going to go with the acoustic.
Re: this song? All The way up until I ask myself how I can’t get high anymore, all I could think was oh yeah how do you figure then I’m gonna smoke a joint and not get high? How do you fucking figure that just one day I won’t be able to get high… Didn’t make any sense and actually doesn’t make any sense until the day you realize you’re going through the motions but it’s not happening. Then the mine goes crazy thinking well it’s gotta be me and something I’m doing mentally because it’s just not possible that you could do something that is created or only authors are psyche but then it doesn’t anymore? OK it’s not that it doesn’t it just does something that I don’t find pleasant in Canton Joy. On the same token a couple of things that I guess I like for different reasons kind of but as far as getting really high shit I’m gonna have to go get some tell me that’s all there is to it and that’s only what 10 or 15 minutes but it’s better than nothing And don’t give me mine because I love me some disassociatives now.

it’s all good. No one is better but the fact that so many don’t know JJ Cale wrote & release so many of Clapton‘s first huge hits and he did a great job of doing the songs like after midnight. It’s a different song completely because of how raspy and cool JJ Cale was. Then Clapton comes & puts what’s akin to some kind of speed freak soundtrack - which works fine in the rockabilly or psychobilly realm but just didn’t quite fit the times. But it must’ve resounded to millions of people because it brought that song to the forefront. It was IMO, Clapton’s claim to fame because it had already been released, performed, come and gone by J.J. Cale . I guess he just didn’t have the reach of Clapton so I have to give Clapton props for something that angers me because I think JJ Cale who wrote cocaine also doing a much better job - he did Layla he wrote all the songs! Once I knew that well… I just suffered a letdown period where I wasn’t much interested in Clapton until he came out with the unplugged album from MTV. I can’t believe so many people don’t even remember those sessions that were so fantastic. People don’t seem to remember them much or like Kurt loder or the original MTV Flag on the moon… to downtown Julie Brown which is the white red head…wait Martha Quinn was also a redhead- then there was a black lady with an English accent.
The last net search - i could only find the English one so dire my searches - I began even wondering if i I remembered right. However I’ve heard the white one now twice in passing running to the store at night on some channel here so probably a clear channel station - the redheaded downtown Julie Brown has her own radio show right now. So they brought her back in a big way because she was kind of well when I looked up Julie Brown I only find one and not her. There was some good stuff that came out of it.
If you never saw the movie Shakes the Clown by bobcat goldwaith - written acted directed but it has so many uncredited actors who were just getting a started - even Edward Norton comes to mind I mean just a ridiculous amount of great actors and of course the seemingly lower budget stupid movie. It opens with a Tammy Faye Baker mascara streaked. Bright red smudged lipstick on Barbara Billingsley, you know the - housekeeper from The Jefferson‘s or wait - The Brady Bunch!! Yeah that’s the ticket!! (Who is that?!) So, makeup smudged so tacky after partaking in Clown in costume sex … It was a really actually entertaining movie and remains so today because I saw a clip of it the other day & I’d say it’s on Airplanes level but it’s not that slap sticky. It’s actually got it’s moments, Quite clearly defined and sexually got an excellent & entertaining story - it’s sickening but really funny because it’s about true alcoholism so it also has its moments as a drama.
I know that’s if you’d like to see how much people dress up as clowns that you start saying hey wait a minute that’s so and so! It’s kind of a trip. I will compare it to on the lines of Run Ronnie Run! Which is the comedic pair that used to be always together of Bob Odenkirk and Chris ______. last name has escaped me - he is bald but not in the movie as he has a mullet. That one is quite entertaining. It has Champ Kind, the sportscaster from Ron Burgundy.
If you’re a movie buff, I put run ronnie run! As a comparison theme to categorize what type of comedy it would be… It’s a lot of action, some real talent any time you have Bob Odenkirk. This was long before better call Saul but not so dated that it can’t be thoroughly enjoyed. For further reference The Jerk though that movie surpasses the rest in sheer star power alone but I’d put these comedies together to say what to expect. You know some of the very finest stupid comedies or even not so stupid can really be entertaining when suddenly unexpectedly you’re faced with dramatic moments and serious storylines in the midst of was supposed to be funny and yes it reminds me of the way Robin Williams ended that epic performance at the metropolitan where he is holding a little kid’s (sons) hand… If you remember that.
when Clapton sings after midnight we gone let out all hang out SO FAST It sounds like you’re in a fucking race like he’s Hi Ho Silver right beside the lone ranger doing the William Tell overture. If you’ve never heard the original please give it a listen…
Yet for your listening pleasure from Run Ronnie Run! This is Chris PLUS SEE IF YOU EVEN recognize Bob odenkirk. He’s “Damn DOUBLE DAMN”
Lol this has less than 50k views after nearly a decade. There are Two good video versions but i added the first showing him as a Pimp looking like on the way to the Pimp & Prostitutes ball or trying to get a date to the AV awards.
A band did a cover and I tracked down the original. My mamma's favourite song
I love it!!
J.J. Cale is awesome and so is Shakes The Clown.Ma
