Benzos post withdrawal battle.

I agree, they are horrible. Worst drug to be addicted to easily. I won't go back on them (not yet at least) because they do fuck your moods up (among other things) but I just can't the benzo depression and distorted obsessive thinking and mood swings. How long did it take you to recover?

Although I was on many different benzos at extreme doses for at least a year, my recovery was not a horror story. I had maybe three days of intense paranoia, sweating and RLS, but after the taper I was able to get back to things pretty quickly.

This was before I discovered opiates and although I was physically dependent, I was not yet an 'addict'. This was huge. It meant that I was not constantly ruminating on my feelings or thinking about what I could/should do to feel better. I was just a normal kid with a physical dependency.

So don't underestimate the strength of thought. I was not expecting to feel shit for weeks, and I literally just didn't. I did my best to exercise and stay positive, and it worked.

ive been feeling alot better this past week or so. i moved out of the town that was sucking my energy dry. i feel like a have a fresh start but still sometimes wake up in a panic it eventually wares off though, i have learned alot about my self during this process i have alot more will power than i thought and its helping me cope throughout this process. its still not easy but its getting easier everyday. all these words of wisdom have helped so much, im not as scared knowing i have people to talk to that wont judge me. your all so great thank you.
 
You are definitely not alone and many of us are in similar situations. I've been off benzos for maybe 7 months and opiates for 12 days.

Strangely I'm finding the opiates a much more draining and soul-destroying process than the benzos.
 
ya suboxone to me is far worse lol i feel likkke im dyyinng hydroxozine is helping me out alot
