WA has a lot of greenery but u have to go far out to experience it. in most of the happening areas it's just shrubbery enveloped in concrete. it's hard to find climbable trees around here.
"emerald city" moniker was a marketing ploy to foster tourism.
the state as a whole may be evergreen, but the city sure the hell isn't. half of the state (Eastern WA) is a desert anyway.
so we have a farrago of scenery-what difference does it make when accessing it all is a nightmare. reaching the ocean takes forever. swimming in the lakes, rivers, and the Sound is reportedly unhealthy. WA is very isolating. last i heard, our depression rate has steadily remained the highest in the nation for the last decade.
no pride in that. pride goeth before the fall.
give me CA anyday. I soo need to get LA'd.
