Post LSD apathy

5HTP is probably fine. Umm, OK... apparently you are bad at looking for things, because, DUDE! 5HTP is ***EVERYWHERE*** !!! Every brand-name big-chain drug-store and grocery store has got one or more brands in the supplement isles (usually near the pharmacy). Unless you like out in the middle of the sticks somewhere and all you have is like one little locally owned Mom&Pop General Store or something. Statements like that are why people are having a hard time taking things you say seriously... 5HTP is VERY EASY to find and every drug store and discount store and grocery store and even "Dollar Stores" have at least one brand if not more on their shelf... it sounds like you are just making stuff up as you type, and did not actually TRY anything that has been recommended. Because I assure you, unless you really are in the middle of nowhere, there definitely *IS* 5HTP in a store very near you!!! Got a Walgreens or Walmart or CVS in your town? If you cant find it, then ask a staff person for help. It is there, the 5HTP that is... Rhodiola is usually only in healthfood/vitamin stores. Is there a GNC (General Nutriton Center) where you live? There is one in just about EVERY mall in the USA. They have both.

Go to Speedway gas station or really ANYWHERE and get yourself a prepaid VISA card and order some Rhodiola online then.

You can get it cheap in bulk from beyond-a-century shop (use the dashes), they probably also carry it capsulized if that is easier for you. Nutraplanet tends to have good prices, great staff and service people. Lots of other places. A friend of mine swears by the BaC bulk product though... he says it gives him more of the up, euphoric sensations than other brands.

People say its best to cycle it like 3 weeks on 1 off or something easy to remember. I often forget though and just take it continuously for long stretches and presume it is doing its beneficial adaptogenic, oxygen-boosting, heart-healthy, brain-boosting, and fatigue-reducing things even if I don't "feel" the dopamine boost very much, which I think is the main reason to cycle it, because you become psychologically accustomed to the D boost and just dont notice it as much after a while. But I would bet the other effects do continue.

Not to pile on, but if you have elevated liver enzymes, then it is evidence that you are not living a healthy physical life.

You always say how healthy you are, working out a lot and whatnot, but unless you have an underlying condition, your liver appears to say otherwise.

I speak from experience, as I had highly elevated liver enzymes about 5 years ago due to very poor diet.

Take some milk thistle - it has been shown to increase the regeneration of liver cells.

Also, take it easy. There is no cure-all for whatever you are experiencing. Life is too complicated for that to be possible.

^ absolutely, milk-thistle extract is another HIGHLY researched, pharmaceutical-level in strength and effectiveness. It not only stimulates the regeneration of new liver cells, but improves the health of what's already there, and has an immediate effect of increasing production of stuff the liver makes.

One upon a time I came down with Hepatitis-B... my research about it turned me onto Milk Thistle Extract (Silymarin), I started using it in high doses, and my next Dr visit only ONE WEEK later showed a TOTAL recovery and normalization of enzyme levels and everything else. Doctor was astonished at my "amazing" recuperative powers. I tried telling him it was probably the MilkThistle so he could use it to help others, but that information seemed to just go in one ear and right out the other... quite amazing to view the "not what I learned = does not exist" filtration/cloak effect in action that is apparently brainwashed into MDs by American Medical School training... doctors, I swear.

@Justin, I loved to read your experience, thank you very much. *-* It seems quite different from mine, though, but very curious. You changed who you are while still having the same life. I don't think I'm changed at all. I feel I'm the absolute same person as before but with some kind of mental sluggishness that hinders me from living as intense as I used to live and that is being hard to deal. It's more like, I still want to do the same things I used to do but I can't anymore.
By the way military enlistment is an obligation here, but don't worry, that doesn't mean I'll have to join. Probably not.
Also your commentary about SSRI was very englightening, it's certainly something I'll try at some point in my 'journey'.
You seem to be a very interesting person.
I'll stay strong. You too. Thank you very much.

@Dwayne and bluffy
the liver problem is probably because I used to drink lots of coffee and protein, what yes, was an unhealthy decision. I have much to learn yet, but I do my best. Let's hope it's nothing serious.

And hah perfect what you said about the doctors. Thanks for the milkthistle recommendation, it's certainly something I'll try out if things go bad.

Dwayne why do you alternate between posting cool+interesting and harsh+useless stuff?

I am imperfect.

I post what I am feeling at the moment, and my feelings can fluctuate.

I am an enigma.

I am mysterious.

Both points of view are useful in their own way to someone... you are not the only one reading it.

I am multitudes (nod to Walt Whitman, btw =D )

Like any den-mother sometimes I want to coddle, hug and kiss... and others I want to smack you on the head with my spatula. Just the way I am. Just the way life is. I am trying to toughen all you little chickadees up the best I know how :) :D <3

mrdocat, Military service mandatory? So you are a Brit, then? That might have something to do with 5HTP not being available in any nearby shops I suppose, like it is here in the US.

Hey mrdocat, I'm not trying to belittle your problem, seriously. But maybe you just need to give yourself time to recover. After ~6 months or so of not ingesting any psychedelics, you tend to become seriously un-psychedelicized. Your consciousness becomes much more normal, just given time. Perhaps time is just what you need?

That made me smile :) <3
