I was out drinking last night and all day today I've had stomach pain, and am thinking its "Gastritis". My question is: what can I do to help it heal or make it feel better?
I just took a heaping spoon full of baking soda (Yuck!) to try and lower my stomach acidity.
Can I take NSAIDS like Ibuprofen? Wiki said that they can cause it, but I haven't taken any recently so that's not the source of the problem :\
Thanks in advance.

Don't drink so much. Eat a light meal and avoid highly acid foods and stuff that irritates your stomach further (very spicy foods, alcohol, ibuprofen and aspirin).

Ibuprofen and aspirin can lead to bleeding in your stomach and ulceration, which is why it's not reccomended you take NSAIDs with gastrointestinal issues.

No NSAIDs, This will make your stomach worse. Pepto-bisthmol will coat your stomach and kill the burn of high acid production induced by your alcohol intake.

Thanks for the info guys.
For future reference: is it the amount of alcohol or liquid that would/could cause this? I know it sounds like a stupid question, but I only had 1 Budweiser 40 Oz and remember being only slightly intoxicated but I felt stuffed (I'mma not so tall, skinny Mofucka). I've had much larger amounts of alcohol (Less liquid) and felt better than this before... :(

How much food have you had to eat? Waking up with a hangover and nothing in your stomach can cause you to feel ill.

yea that amount of booze shouldnt cause any negative problems...

could be a gluten problem too...

try hard alcohol and see if it happens again

Its not a hangover, I'm positive. I'm pretty good at drinking lots of water with my alcohol.
Weird thing is I got smashed off 151 and my stomach didn't hurt this bad. I didn't even get drunk last night... I woke up, in pain and nauseous, I had cereal for breakfast a large sandwich for lunch and a fat cheeseburger for dinner with persistent pain. I found when I sat down to work that I get even more nauseous and walking helped it. Well either way its slowly going away, so hopefully by tomorrow morning my stomach will have fixed itself.

Im gunna tell you the absolute best cure for what your talking about, as ive been there many many times (im sure the bathroom and you are great friends today)

Im telling you....marijuana will completely take it away. Perferably indica strands, as its much more relaxing, and eating because much easier.

Done it too many times man....too many times.

Any other drugs you had been taking in the couple of days before this?
And what did you eat that day? Perhaps you picked up some light food poisoning, or just ate something that didn't agree later.

Actually, I didn't throw up or get the runs... Non of that happened to me thank goodness.

Coco Puffs for breakfast, Budweiser 40 Oz for dinner. Nothing in between
I've been taking about a gram Gabapentin a day...

Two days later, I'm still feeling some slight stomach pains and the nausea is persistent. :(

Not many of the symptoms add up, and I'm not to sure why alcohol would be the cause of this (though I only scanned it excluding the symptoms). If this were the case, how long would it take to clear up?

One word: Budweiser

They soak beechwood chips in the beer... I don't know if that has anything to do with it, as this makes it taste rather strange to me.

I have found that "light" meals a few HOURS before drinking is best, I know that when I eat something heavy like a whopper with cheese and then very soon after drink some beer then I become super bloated and uncomfortable feeling in my stomach, whereas if I eat lightly (but still eat something cause empty stomach is usually a no no too) then my stomach tolerates all that liquid bread and sugar I'm dumping into it for the sake of ethanol intoxication. Hope that helps. and when I'm drinking beer or other alcohols I usually drink a LOT more water in between and after than I ever do usually, this seems to help quite a bit as well.

as an ex alcoholic Ive experienced stomach burns from hell.........dont drink for a while and see a doc could be ulcer

The nausea and pain went away after about 4 days. I don't know what caused it, and may never know. I've drank sense then and haven't had any such discomfort.
