Ok so here's something either worth looking into or a complete coincidence...
You can skip to the last paragraph if you want to know about my "remedy", but the context is important too I believe.
About a week ago I had a mild multidrug binge. I started with speed and went on for 3 days with a few hours of sleep somewhere in between. I feel the need to precise that it wasn't meant to be a binge, I needed a strong boost to finish a project that was long overdue. By the third day my speed stash was running low so I decided to mix it with threshold doses of MDMA to keep the energy going. Oh and every day I was also taking threshold doses of LSD (~10 mcg each time). By the end of the third day, starting to feel the comedown, and burdened by the stress of being so late in my schedule, I did something stupid and upped the MDMA to doses of around 30-40 mg, and in probably 5 hours redosed three times which made a total of around 150 mg. I also decided to eat all of my microdoses of LSD that were prepared in advance, which totaled to something like 400 mcg. Needless to say, by that point all hope for work was gone down the shithole (well, since it was KIND OF an artistic project at least I had lots of time to analyze it, try to come up with new ideas to put into work once I sobered up, etc.), so I thought fuck it, and continued to binge in whatever I could find in my stash, finished my 4-ho-mipt, had approx. 50 mg of 4-aco-dmt, around 50 mg of 2c-b, probably 60 mg of diazepam, tons of weed... All of this in approx. one day. I knew I was pushing my body hard, especially since this was the continuation of a 3 day speed binge, and knew the crash would be epic. Although I must say, I tried my best to ease it on my body by regularly taking vitamins, supplements, protein shakes, sometimes even real food, LOTS of water, but when you're going at 500mph there's little an airbag can do to save you lol.
Well, needless to say, I crashed hard. For a few days I couldn't do shit, even checking the mail or going to the store felt like walking through the gates of hell, plus the diazepam kept me too groggy to even feel human (and I kept taking them, cause despite all of this I couldn't sleep, plus I've been taking them for like 6 months now, another problem to solve urgently but I digress).
And OF COURSE THE BRAIN ZAPS. God, it had been years I gave up on doing stupid amounts of MDMA and how happy I was without those evil sandbags pushing my eyes out. They came back HARD. Trying to fall asleep? ZAP! Listening to soothing music and meditating? ZAP! Moving my eyes to look at something? ZAAPPPPP!!!!
I'm sure a lot of you have been there...
Omega-3, vitamins, 5-htp, noopept, fasoracetam, magnesium.... Zilch. Not even a tiny amount of relief, the intensity of the zaps were constant for 3 days.
THE REMEDY
On the 4th day, out of desperation, I tried something which seems to have worked. I remembered the studies about DMT (and maybe other tryptamines too, I can't remember) strongly attenuating (can't say curing cause I don't think they're ever gone) symptoms of migraine in individuals. I though why not? I loaded my bowl with 70 mg of 50/50 changa, which means 30mg DMT, which is a damn fine dose for a trip. But I was so low, I felt so shitty that I didn't even enjoy the absolute mindfuck it provides, I just wanted to see if it'd work.
Well, 12 hours have gone by and I haven't had one zap.
Maybe it was just a matter of time and they would've stopped by themselves.
Or maybe there is something worth digging here.
I'm not well educated on neurochemistry, and the scientific community itself can't seem to find a consensus on why brain zaps happen, but they appear to have a relationship with serotonin regulation, and DMT being so close to serotonin... IDK, I'm not a scientist.
TL;DR - After a 4 day drug binge followed by 3 days of unbearable brain zaps, I stopped having them by smoking DMT (Changa)
EDIT : I'M NOT SAYING THIS IS A CURE TO ANYTHING. DON'T TAKE STUPID AMOUNTS OF MDMA BELIEVING SMOKING DMT WILL CURE THE BRAIN ZAPS. STAY SAFE.
