It's been about 40 hours since I took that shot.

My symptoms are:

-Redness about 3 inches in diameter on my bicep
-Little amount of pain,
-The red spot feels very warm, almost hot.
-Trouble moving my arm/hands sometimes (although this may be related to something else)

Any idea what this is? Am I gonna be okay, or should I go to the hospital. It's late over here and I was gonna to sleep. Like I said it's been 40 hours since this shot, and I don't believe it has gotten better. Should I wait and see if it clears up, or am I gonna be okay? :?

I've missed before and it swells.. I missed last week in my wrist and it literally swelled up for 2 days u couldn't even SEE a vein and my hand was numb and tingly and even itchy and felt hot. Don't worry, you'll be fine but be careful next time

Beep just cause you got lucky doesn't mean the OP will. Sounds like he has the start of an infection which can resolve on its own or can just as easily overwhelm your immune system, progress to a nasty infection and ultimately lead to limb amputation. Still think he should "just ice it". Not trying to be a dick, but our shouldn't be so cavalier with your own health, let alone the health of others.

Sounds like it's possible it may get infected. I've had a lot of scares with missed shots in the past, but I've never personally had to seek medical attention due to a missed shot, though there's been one or two times where i was close. Usually, I keep an eye on it and if it doesn't start to get better after a day or two, I start seriously considering going to urgent care or the ER.

I was in a similar position recently. I had a missed shot in my hand that had swollen quite a bit and was pretty painful. Once it got to a certain point, I decided i was going to urgent care the next day. The morning i was planning on going, it looked considerably better and wasn't painful anymore, so i never went and it healed fine.

To be honest, most the time someone is scared about a missed shot they turn out being fine, and it heals up within a few days, but if it keeps getting worse 2 days or so after you miss, definitely seek medical attention. In your case, it's already been almost two days. So if it isn't getting better tomorrow, and seems to be getting worse, a trip to the ER for you. Better safe than sorry man. Normally when i miss a shot after 3 days it's pretty close to being completely healed, if you aren't looking any better after 72 hours medical attention is definitely necessary.

Sounds like a missed shot

They can become abscesses. The best option is go to ER right away.

However most missed shots hurt, swell a little, and go away within a day. Some don't. And they get really bad really quick, and if you wait too long (4-12 days) and that shit swells up super big, you may lose a limb in an extreme case

It's up to you if you want to be on the safe side, or wait and see and be on the risky side.

I personally always waited and never got a full blown abscess

Not necessarily. Heat just means there's inflammation. Blood vessels dilate in order to bring more immune cells to the area which causes the heat.

And what do u think causes thr initial inflammation...
U are correct that it doesn't HAVE to be an infection, but it very very often is.

Initial inflammation can be due to any trauma or foreign particle. If you get a paper cut, the wound is going to be loaded with tons of bacteria which will trigger an immune response but that certainly doesn't mean it's infected.

Generally if you have an infection you will know it. One time I started to get severe pain and redness in my knee that would not go away. Every morning it got worse and began to keep me up at night. It spread down my leg to my foot and the whole area got five times bigger and very red. Eventually I had to go to the ER because I couldn't walk at all and the pain was explosive.
