Club Project Coordinator
42 hours per fortnight (12 month position)
The Manly Drug Education and Counselling Centre (MDECC) is inviting applications from qualified individuals for the position of Club Project Coordinator.
MDECC is a non-government organisation based in Manly. The Centre provides community education, health promotion, targeted intervention programs, and counselling/treatment. MDECC is funded by NSW Health and supported by the local community. MDECC operates within a harm reduction philosophy relative to alcohol and other drug use.
The Club Project aims to prevent or minimise the harms associated with ‘party drugs’ to the dance-going public in Sydney through the provision of accurate factual information, and skills development. This position will be particularly responsible for planning and coordinating a Drug Peer Education Project, and providing education and training initiatives using health promotion, harm minimisation strategies within the environments of Sydney Clubs and Events.
The successful applicant will be an experienced project manager with skills in consultation, education, and health promotion.
Qualifications and Experience Required
Essential:
• Tertiary qualifications in health, social sciences, or related fields
• Demonstrated knowledge and previous application of harm reduction principles
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects
• Previous drug education or health promotion experience
• Research skills
• Current NSW driver’s licence
Desirable:
• Postgraduate qualifications in a related field
• Previous experience in conducting peer education programs
• Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
Salary: Above award (as per MDECC Salary Scale)
