Portugal's drug policy pays off; US eyes lessons

i think its been clear to many people that the us isnt half of what it says it is. too bad most people will never see it this way.

the sheeple as mentioned in south park
i agree with u loz america makes too much money opressing its people for them to care about social issues

you may hate america but i hate to break it to you its not better elsewhere. atleast in america being a regular worker will get u car, personal possesions, etc. in other countries 24 hour sweatshops and blood diamonds get you a meal a day. this is all a product of capitalism, and as long as you live under capitalist economy dont expect better elsewhere

I know what you are saying but I am thinking in regards to the more liberal European countries. Countries that embrace the TRUE values of socialism. That no person should be considered unequal because of their financial status.

When I think about the policies our government has in place, it makes me want to pull my hair out sometimes. I can't imagine that if somehow the founding fathers could see this that they'd be happy. They fought overwhelming numbers just to say that they wanted to be able to do what they wanted, when they wanted, however they wanted to.

Things like this make me feel like I do when I argue with people who say atheists are ruining this country and that they'll be damned if they ever take the line "one nation under God" out of the pledge of allegiance. Of course they don't want to hear it when you tell them that it was only added to the pledge just over a half century ago.... Yep, the founding fathers intended for that line to be there and that's why they DIDN'T put it in there to begin with....

God damn it, I wish I could speak Portuguese or Czech......Though I hear the dope there ain't quite NJ dope, so.....Oh the hell with it, Imma be stuck in NJ my whole life.

The Civil War did 2 major things, one good one bad. It eliminated slavery but it also indirectly eliminated states rights and greatly increased federal taxes. The Confederacy didn't consider slavery as a major reason of succession, because they didn't see it as a big deal, the war as a whole wasn't over slavery. Four states were allowed to have slaves during the Civil War as long as they remained with the Union. The war was over states rights vs federal powers. Other than slavery the Confederacy fought for what the founding fathers fought for. Individual freedom.

I wish the Tea Party weren't so radical so I could support them. They claim to want to get the US Government back on track to following the guidelines of the US Constitution which is all about personal freedoms. They are however ultra conservative which is the opposite of personal freedoms. Sure they want freedom as far as gun laws and all but the conservative point of view is weed is more dangerous than guns. The illegalizing weed was a racial issue in some aspects. Making it illegal was sold to the public using the propaganda that it could be used by black jazz musicians to get young white girls to sleep with them with it's trance like effects. This fear convinced enough people that making it illegal was urgent. I would have to do some research to get the exact story but it was started by a rich NY business man turned Governor. Hemp was causing him to lose money because he had a business using some kind of fabric that was inferior to hemp so instead of dealing with it like a business man he dealt with it like a racist politician which was acceptable back then.

You are right though. Democrat or Republican, they are all the same, but the conservative Republicans love telling you how much they are Christians and this is a Christian nation and our problems are caused by a lack of Christian morals but the country was started and Constitution written with one of the primary principles being the freedom to believe as you choose.

THE WAR ON DRUGS = $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ They will never change this!It lines to many pockets!

Pecking order goes as follows:

Tax Payer aka Sucker funds war.
Drug Addict aka Scum Bag is casuality of war.
Police Officer aka Soldier in war.
