that's really hard. I haven't listened to a lot of either, but portishead's new album is awsome. I just downloaded massive attack's like, "greatest hits" album a month or two ago, and its realy good too. I voted for massive attack because i fell in love with angel....

i voted portishead, but it was a tough decision for two reasons:

1. i think massive attack is awesome
2. "third" was such a shitty album that i lost some respect for portishead

if massive attack would have recorded more tracks with elizabeth fraser performing guest vocals this might have been a stalemate, but in the final analysis beth gibbons and her haunting voice give portishead an undeniable edge.

Ditto

Definitely Massive Attack. They definitely have a lot more variety in their tracks. Plus they made my favourite trip-hop track: Eurochild.

And you got to love the dub remix of Protection by Mad Professor: No Protection.

Massive Attack - no doubt for me. And yeah - "No protection" is amazing. I'd say it's a better album then "Protection", though original "Karmacoma" would be my favorite MA song.

I can't even vote. I just love them both. I thought I'd pick Massive Attack because Teardrop is a work of art (I loved it so much it was my ringtone for quite a while), but thinking back to some great Portishead songs makes it much harder to decide. Stalemate!

I can't pick. Both are very near and dear to me for different reasons. They're like a bad ex lover with twisted up memories that are so sweet I can't stop listening... and I always go back for more. rofl. is true tho.
