Poppy tea is the fucking devil

I think the withdrawal effects are being blown a little out of proportion in this thread just by a little bit. A lot of people get caught off guard by how strong pod tea withdrawal can be because they were expecting it to be not as bad as pharmaceutical opioid w/d. Pod tea withdrawal is equivalent to having a morphine + codeine habit and taking a few muscle relaxers every day to potentiate the opiates. It's definitely not the hardest withdrawal I've been through, but it sure isn't fun either. The effects can be moderate-severe, I'd rate it somewhere in the middle. The duration is also moderate-long.

Look into kratom. You can use kratom tea as a pod tea substitute for a few weeks. It is believed to work mainly on your delta opioid receptors with a little mu crossover so it can give you some relief while helping you get clean. Coming off kratom isn't nearly as bad as coming off raw opium (pod tea).

Of course benzos also help with the psychological aspect of withdrawal and they also can relieve muscle tension and help you in a lot of ways. Just be careful not to get hooked on a benzo when trying to come off pod tea.

NO,get SUBUTEX.who wants suboxone anyway,i mean the bupehigh is actually
just there if your clean anyway, and then the added naloxone makes 500%
sure not too get you feeling good, actually the nalox.in suboxone could make you feel worse.the other alkaloids in tea.like thebaine, papaverine DON'T attach to opi-receptors,only the codeine which is also there.narcotine sounds nice, but on its own would do nothing.a synergistic effect may exist,O. is somewhat different than pure morph.,but when your on 8oomg for maintenance, tea is like tap water unless when 50+pods are used.
hold tight,it'll get better eventually, and get some subutex+diazepam, that
will help alot.

grow and synth ;]

You grow and synthesise your own opiates? In Northhampton UK?? I knew there was a big drug scene there but…..Do you mean you’re using hydroponics etc. to grow opium poppies? I didn’t think that was feasible? If it is tell me more?:)

Also, open question:: if most pods contain thebaine, from which loads of opiods are synthesized, would it be feasible to extract and make your own opiods from poppy pods, in theory?

haha, suboxone makes it 500% sure that you won't be feeling good, huh? That's totally untrue for the majority of the population. Unless you're going to IV, it normally makes no difference if you take suboxone or subutex. It's the buprenorphine that has a high binding affinity for your mu opioid receptors and can knock off other opiates and cause precipitated withdrawal. You want to wait at least 24 hours before doing suboxone after your last pod tea dose. The amount of naloxone in suboxone is negligible. There are a few people who report headaches after taking suboxone. If you experience constant headaches then talk to your doctor about subutex. Otherwise stick with suboxone. If you go to a doctor asking for subutex instead of suboxone it will most likely make you look like you're trying to score something to abuse. Suboxone works just fine for most people I know.

While the other alkaloids in pod tea other than morphine and codeine don't make a huge difference because as you said they don't bind to your opioid receptors, they can potentially impact the nature of your pod tea experience and the withdrawal.

They grow all over the town.

yes, it's amazing.

In the summer, I take a razor blade on the walk to school each day.

sure you could do it with hydroponics, but you may as well use your garden =D

I like the effects of poppy tea, but I hate the taste. The body warmth is amazing and I can sit and relax for quite a long time. But...how can I make it taste better?

also, well ya, it's the easiest way to get thebaine,

but it's still a bit of a bitch.

better off starting from morphine or codeine,
both MUCH easier to procure (morph from Opium, codeine from OTC Co-Codamol)

Well I have some hydros here .. 7.5 hydro with 200 mg ibuprofen .. I have to take about 6 of them just to feel "ok" ... I'm usually good at dealing with withdrawals guess I just underestimated pod tea ...

Ibuprofen will tear your gut apart. Not a good idea. Try immodium and some good ol' vic with tylenol if possible

Careful on the ibuprofen, too many can lead to a bleed. I knew someone who abused codeine/ibuprofen which lead to serious stomach ulcer. Have you tried dosing up on loperamide. My personal regimen for Dihydrocodeine withdrawl (a good 6 days before you 'turn the corner')

- Diazepam 2 x 10mg (PRN for first 4 days, then every 4 hours)
- Zopiclone/Zolpidem 7.5/10mg nocte
- Loperamide (6mg in the morning)
- Omeprazole (or zantac)
- Milk thistle + lots of suragy drinks
- Lofexadine, or clonidine (sparingly)
- I was always advised not to worry about the eating provided you're keeping fluids in, you'll be able to eat when your body's ready. try starting with yoghurt/bannanas.
- NO OPIATES (IME taking any opiate to soften the WDs can easily lead you to relapse, I know a lot of others BL disagree).

To the OP, I hope you feelyou've turned a corner, but careful in dosing opiates for relief, you'll just string out the WDs. If you've come this far you're almost there. My WDs have always been more successful if I threw away all opiates, better to relieve the 'pain' with benzos short term, that dip your receptors back in opiates. From your last post you're doing really well, post to let us know if you're managing?
cheers

what is poppy tea anyways?? i see alot of people talking about it..not to sound like a total newbie..

Poppy Tea Withdrawl

Im curious, I have been taking opiates, Oxy, hydro, on and off for years now and it's been 3 weeks since I've had any in my system. I made poppy pod tea this weekend. Friday I had one cup of 4 pods. Sat 2 cups 5pods, and Sunday 1 cup 4 pods...I'm done now and don't plan on taking any more this month...Should I expect withdrawls from this amount??

lol wow thats a shitload of posts xdtx it says 4,294,967,295 posts and when i check your profile it says thats 129,455,120.53 per day O.O

Poppy Pod Tea is Opium. The only comparison to a pharmaceutical product is not Morphine, but Pantopon.

Pantopon is a preparation of opiates made up of all of the alkaloids present in opium in their natural proportions as hydrochloride salts. It can sometimes be tolerated by persons who are allergic to morphine.

Pantopon is, in other words, opium with all of the tar and other insolubles removed in an injectable form which is nearly as potent as morphine is by weight. Other drugs of the same type have include opium alkaloid sulphates (Papaveretum), phosphates, and valerates.

why the fuck do people say pods have a long half life?
It's the morphine that gives you the desired high, and the half life is not gonna change, morphine is morphine.
The other crap might last a while though, but do they feel opiate-ish?

someone enlighten me please!
the other crap is very similar in molecular structure to the morphine

therefore the liver enzymes that get rid of morphine, spend their time also getting rid of the other crap

the result is that, when you eat pods, the morphine lasts a lot longer than if you eat pure morphine

longer highs = longer rebound time (longer withdrawal) when the funs over

---

for about a year ive been eating pods daily, those damn pods have even tricked me into upping my dose so many times :P how do they do that?

coming off the pods is way too painful, so im just staying on, using them as i did when i decided to start using a small amount once/twice a day as self medication (IBS, social anxiety, insomnia)

either opiates become legal so i can implement a good taper plan, or im on these for the rest of my life... you can pry my morocca-sounding pods from my cold dead hands!

---

when im out of pods or something and 'sick',

1. lots of benzos
2. any muscle relaxer, or other sedative. (not alcohol, that worsens the sore muscles). otherwise twitching legs prevent sleep
3. lotsa tylenol. otherwise sore legs will prevent sleep
4. clonidine to stay calm if you have it
5. pepto cant be used too long continuously. have immodium AD for the diarea, and lots of it. pepto for nausea and severe diarea that breaks through
6. marijuana helps take my mind off it pretty well, for the first couple sessions i smoke
7. no going to obligations like work/school, no leaving the house unless it's like Walgreens for some of the above, because the anxiety and such is just too much

i use tea bags (decaff) plus honey, makes it actually almost pleasant for me

I started experimenting with poppy pods recently, not much, cup of tea here and there, pretty soon once a day, then 3-4 times a day, now I'm trying to get off these fuckers and its hell, Ive had withdrawals from heroin that weren't like this.

When I started I figured how much harm could it do, some shit thats legal that you can order over the internet ... well now I know ... just a word of caution to people thinking about getting into them, not saying don't do em, but if you cant keep it to once or twice a week you'll end up in a world of hurt.

On another note, anyone experienced with pods have some advice for withdrawal? I have a 4 mg a day script for klonopin but they barely phase me anymore .. got hookups for pain pills but seems the withdrawals from the pods last forever ... Ive been a week without and feel worse now than day 2 or 3 ... anytime Ive kicked pills or heroin after the first 2-3 days I'm good ... still feel like shit but I can maintain ... nothing like this shit ... havent eaten in 4 days cuz I just throw everything up ...

Poppy pod tea or seed tea is a longer acting opiate, because it's like opium in that it contains all the alkaloids from the poppy, which have a synergistic effect and makes it last longer than plain morphine would. The wd does suck and they generally are as severe as heroin / plain morphine, but last a lot longer.

The k-pins will help, but if you have a huge tolerance to them, you'd have to take more. DO NOT go into benzo w/d while you're in opiate w/d. It will be hell (moreso) and even though opiate w/d isn't fatal (most of the time), benzo w/d can be. You need to ween off of benzos, whereas opiates you can cold-turkey, although I wouldn't recommend it. Which pain pills do you have access to? They should help make you feel normal, and you could taper comfortably that way.

Also, some meds that may help are:

Benzos: will help for sleep, anxiety, and leg aches.
Muscle Relaxers: will help with sedation (depends on which kind of muscle relaxers) and leg aches / pain.
Ibuprofen: minor aches and pain.
Clonidine: helps to keep your blood pressure down, and thereby helping with anxiety. Some say it works wonders, others don't think it helps that much. I'm with the later.
Phenergan: will help with nausea and sedate you.

Weed will also help with anxiety, muscle relaxation, and nausea.

Thanks for the advice, but I posted this 6 months ago, and have been on Suboxone ever since. I had to wait 10 days to start taking Sub to avoid precipitated withdrawals, I tried taking it at 6-7 days after stopping the pods and it made me feel like shit :| .

Suboxone has been a life saver for me (and a money saver lol), My insurance pays for the doctor visits and the meds so I get it for free basically, it doesn't get me high or anything but there have been a lot of times where I had the opportunity to score pills or heroin, and of course poppy pods are just a few mouse clicks away, but then I'd think "why bother, just going to be a waste of money since I'm on Sub". I finally feel somewhat in control of my life again.

I also agree with some of the original replies to this thread, looking back, it wasn't the poppy pods that were the problem, just my own stupidity for not doing the proper research before deciding to use them.

No problem...I guess I posted because I saw someone else had. Anyway....

Yes, you're absolutely right. I'm on Subs too (scripted 16mg a day, only take 4mg snorted) and it's a lifesaver. It makes me feel like I did before I ever started opiates. No sickness, no craving, etc. But, I don't have insurance, so it's pricey. But it's still worth it. Good luck.
