Can you use any poppy seeds for this or are there certain morphine / codeine containing seeds? If so, does anyone have a list of what ones to look out for?

Sorry this is such a newb question, but this is gonna be my first exploration into the opiate world after a somewhat failed cold water codeine extraction.

No seeds actually contain alkaloids. Some are coated with them.

You want papaver somniferum seeds. (They're the most common anyway.)

The average starting dose would require around 400g's of seeds... Of course YMMV.

As for specific brands, you want seeds found at ethnic/wholesale stores. Those aren't always branded, and if they are no one has heard of them. They're typically from other countries such as India. The popular brands available in the US(e.g. McCormick) have been washed and are way too expensive.

What you're probably looking for, and what people often mistakenly call "poppy seed tea," is poppy POD tea. You make this from the actual pods of the poppy plant. You can buy these legally online, try ebay.

As for the specific methods, just google it or search bluelight. I would recommend using a french press if you can get one, or just grind the pods up really well and gulp them down with juice. I just tried eating it straight for the first time, and it is significantly stronger, though slower on the come up.

there are people who prefer(red) seed tea to pod tea. i enjoyed seed tea even after a fent/AMF addiction, and i hate pod tea.

to the OP, don't bother with, like, seeds bought in bottles at a grocery store. bulk seeds at ethnic or maybe organic stores will most likely be better, but, unfortunately, there's no guarantee with seeds.

what is your opiate tolerance?

There is a crop of poppy seeds that hit the bulk and ethnic markets around late fall-early spring yearly that are very potent. They have so much residue and are so cheap its easy to maintain or even make it your DOC.

Even throwing price out the window, I'd rather have some tea from potent seed then pods. It had a unique rush and energy that pod tea doesn't.

Plus there is nothing like popping into a grocery and walking out more opiates then the pill head bothering the pharmacist.

Government health agencies are taking notice of this so who knows how long it will last, it has to do with growing or harvesting conditions.

Be careful out there, seed tea with the easy acquisition and low price led me straight into a addiction that I can't shake.

Edit: You're more than welcome to discuss anything PST/PPT related in public. Please don't post email/PM requests, it looks shady.

I'm surprised people prefer PST over PPT.

Well, down here in Australia, poppy seeds are so much easier to get then pods, which I haven't even seen [no sources. - IForgett] listings for domestically (since you can't import them).

But from what I've read, PPT sounds better; it has a longer lasting high, and plus with the seeds it can be very hit and miss.

You luck Americans with your [no sources. - IForgett] drugs! :)

Ditto. I've had some very nice seed experiences and some pretty shitty seed experiences too and I've always used the same brand commonly found in Australian Supermarkets. There's just no way to know....

so you've noticed this as a trend year to year? for how many years? i've garnered great pleasure from those seeds.

OP, the internet is your friend.

phrozen, personally, i can't even stand the smell of pod tea bc one time it made me violently ill (bc i prepared it improperly). however, i had some pod tea prior to that experience, and it didn't do much for me. i don't know. it doesn't make sense. all i know is that i've had some awesome seed tea experiences.

Yea the trend was holding pretty steady since around 2005 locally, this is one of the largest cities in the US though. It does seem to be a seasonal thing and I'm pretty sure its got to do with a harvesting method. Of course you can find them year round if you find a place that doesn't move a lot of stock.

Phrozen I wasn't really trolling for sources, I've got em already. I was more offering to help walk people through the process or give tips on finding potent seed. I've got photos and some tips on telling them apart.

Quite frankly if junkies knew about this resource there would be a rush on the bulk section, beats scamming doctors for vics.

Hey, how come my mentioning of a particular site got deleted when there is another one in this very thread left untouched?

Whatever, I'll leave it to the mods ;)

Apparently darker colored poppy seeds are the ones to go for. I've obtained some seeds that are completely untreated, they are very black. Not grey/blueish like the ones in the supermarkets. I'm going to be trying some organic sources soon.

In terms of organic sources, does anyone know if these guys are actually licensed to grow this stuff? Or are they sourcing it from someone else? I would have thought papaver licensing would have been fairly strict.

Vodka is disgusting but I can just about drink it so I suppose poppy tea can't be that bad then

IME, the more bitter the tea the stronger. It's really not that bad to drink. If you really want to get high, you'll down it with a smile on your face.

Hmm, what if I were to grind the pods up, dump them in hot (not boiling) water and leave to simmer for 30 minutes. Strain, drink the resulting liquid, THEN eat whatever's left in the sieve. Am I gonna get more for my buck by doing this, I take it not all the goodness gets into the tea when straining?

Right, wrong!?

I have tried doing it many ways, adding bolling or almost bolling water, letting sit till almost cool and then strain and drink. Now I just use a rice cooker (kind of like a round crock-pot). I put .7 liters of water in the cooker then add about 6 pods (do yourself a favor and grind them all and mix to level potency and start low) that have been powdered in a coffee grinder. Put on high for 15-20 minutes, temp gets around a low boil. If you leave the cover off it won't get as hot if your afraid to burn off any morphine or other alkaloids, or maybe leave it cracked open. Within a few times experimenting you will find the right temp for your cooker model. This is the way I have gotten the most out of, tea comes out much lighter when just adding the hot water rather than keeping at a constant temp for 15-20 mins. And IME the darker/bitter the stronger.

-edit- Also to strain you seem to get more through using a permanent coffee style filter without the paper inside. Then after you pass all the tea that way, take the remaining mush and put some in a paper filter (just enough so you can squeeze it it not tear) pull the ends together at the top then squeeze. Repeat for the remaining of the mush.

Start low it can up to 1 1/2 - 2 hours to feel full effects.
