BlueMonday
Bluelighter
I am mildly experienced with opiates. I have tried Oxycontin on numerous occasions, as well as Vicodin, and also have tried Valium, Percocets, etc. I haven't used drugs in a couple of years, with the exception of alcohol. I have deserted that lifestyle but I can't say I don't miss some things about it, in all honesty. I am married to someone who disapproves the use of illegal drugs, and I can say I don't think I "disapprove" of the use, I just stopped doing it.
I have always been a sucker for opiates, they were my favorite drug by far. When I read on bluelight that poppy seed tea was possible, my heart skipped. My husband, to his knowledge, couldn't say I was "using illegal drugs" if I did this. I wanted to purchase pods but that would be even more suspicious. His drug knowledge is not like mine, I figured I could get away with the seeds.
I began my search for "good" seeds about one month ago. Apparently in my city, bulk poppy seeds are non-existent. I went to one last local health food store (I am in Virginia, southeastern side), and found little plastic containers in the spices section of light black/ dark grey seeds. They were organic, not sure if that was better or worse. I bought four, totalling 94 grams. I was slightly disappointed the seeds weren't darker, and that bulk seeds were so hard to find. Finally I found a health food store about an hour away, that had poppy seeds in a medium-sized plastic container. I bought over a pound, had to put 1/2 pound in one baggie and 3/4 in another. My dose for this experiment was the 1/2 pound bulk seeds and 94 grams of the pre-packaged, so roughly 320g.
T0:00 - I take one Benadryl. I pour the seeds by way of paper funnel into an empty 2-liter soda bottle. I decided to mix it with roughly 1 liter of orange juice. I read using lemons and water, or grapefruit juice were popular, so I figured cold orange juice would be fine. I let it sit for about 40 mins, shaking pretty well about 3 times inbetween. I strain the juice, it makes one very full glass. I take a sip, it is not that bad. After a couple sips, it is getting worse, I have to drink the rest with my nose plugged and chase it with cranberry juice and bread. The stale taste was slightly nauseating.
T0:45 - I notice very suttle itchiness. That's it.
T1:00 - Nothing changes. I drink a couple beers.
T2:30 ~ VERY SLIGHT feeling of warmth, in familar waves. Almost too suttle to notice, itchiness increases very slightly, and doesn't get any worse beyond this point. I decide this sucks so I add apple-berry juice to the bottle with seeds, about 1 liter like before. I wait 30 minutes, shaking every 10. I drink the nastiness once more.
T3:30 - I notice hardly any difference. I got up early that morning, so about now I am feeling rather tired. I fear my tiredness is mixing with the subdued opiate effects, making it difficult to separate. By now I had drank about 3-4 beers, but the feeling from the opiates is very different from the alcohol.
T5:00 - I go to bed, feel the warmth of the opiate ever so slightly more, and fall asleep.
On a scale of 1 to 10, in my whole night, the effects of the "tea" probably reached a 2. Very disappointing.
I think I made a couple mistakes in my experience. Next time I am going to use all bulk seeds, I think having 1/3 of them be pre-packaged this time might have interfered with the effectiveness. I am also going to try to be less tired beforehand next time. Also I am going to try heating water w/ lemons and mixing the seeds in. Possibly boiling the water. I read from more than a few people that boiling "destroys" or "harms" the alkaloids. Then I decided to read a post from morninggloryseed about it, he/she (?) seems more credible/knowledgeable than most. He/She mentioned that the heat at which morhpine degrades is a lot higher than the boiling point of water, and boiling might help release some of the alkaloids. This makes perfect sense.
[edit - About one week has gone by, and I have since then tried adding boiling water w/ lemons like I said to about 350 grams of all bulk seeds, from the same store as mentioned. A slight increase in effects were noticed, but not enough to really matter, or repeat the process another time. I think I'll stick to pods from now on, or try a different store.]

The health food shops here are like pharmacists, incredibly curious and talkative. The one near me asked me if I was an apprentice baker. "er...yeah"
