Hello everybody, Sorry if this is a little bit long, but I am writing this report about poppy seed ‘tea’ involving experiences and different methods I have used to prepare this mix. First off, I would like to share a little background information on myself pertaining to the reason I ever became interested in this.
So, way back in September this year, I injured my shoulder and my upper back/neck. I was working in a factory for 10hrs/day at least 6 days a week, often it was 7 days a week. Just like everybody else who walks into a doctor complaining about back pain, I was prescribed hydrocodone and muscle relaxers. At first they had me on 7.5/750mg, and put me into physical therapy, but still at work, so it did me no good when I hurt all day there at work. They frown upon good associates taking narcotics on an assembly line… go figure
. So eventually I convinced my doctor to take me off for a week. My PT (physical therapist) had me to strengthening exercises in combination with massage and electrical stimulation therapy.
After a week, I saw my doctor again and said I was still in pain. So he changed my dosage to 10/660mg 5-6 times daily, and set me up with a pain specialist (physiatrist) to run tests on me to figure out what was wrong. The only thing was, that I couldn’t get into that doctor for a month, so they took me off work until I could see him (yay, vacation!!). I was flying high for about 4 weeks on all that good hydrocodone, but my pain was still there, even after PT and medication, in fact it was getting worse.
Finally I saw my physiatrist, he did some tests (I tested positive on 4 out of 5 without saying a word or giving any signal) and he determined (just by moving my arm and feeling for tension) that my rotator cuff was possibly torn (from an auto accident earlier this year) so he had me get an MRI done and started to wean me off of the narcotics. I got the results back from the MRI, and it showed that I had a severe case of tendonitis and a moderate case of arthritis – that’s a lot to take in at 22 years old. In addition to that, I found out that the 6 weeks of PT only worsened my condition. Being that the focus was on strengthening the muscle groups that were sore, it just further irritated my tendonitis, and that was why my upper back and neck were so sore on that side. Also I get to have a bone scraping done in 5 years (ouch!!). He prescribed me relefen, which is arthritis medication in the NSAID (non steroidal anti-inflammatory) class of drugs. This medication didn’t do me much justice for the pain, so I reverted to narcotics for help when I had some time off.
Now on to the methods I have used, and the one I prefer the most, which I brainstormed one day. I will begin with the first method and on to the present one I am using. I thought of this after reading a post where somebody said “basically all you do is wash the morphine off of the seeds”. I almost always use sunny D or orange juice now, it works as well as pineapple juice to take away the bitter.
Method 1 – Blender, juice and strain.
Pretty basic method, but it has one catch – a blender will chop the shit out of your seeds! This makes the drink foamy and rather putrid. Messy deal, not recommended.
Method 2 – Food Processor, juice and strain.
This method works pretty well, in fact it doesn’t chop the seeds up much at all, but it is messy like the blender and I have a small food processor, it only has a button you can hold down, so it takes too long for me and the motor starts to stink after about 2 mins.
Method 3 – Mixing Bowl and plastic wrap.
I thought of this method after I got frustrated with the food processor. Basically you soak the seeds in warm juice and cover it with plastic wrap, stirring every 10 mins or so with a spoon. After an hour, peel up a little bit of plastic wrap and pour off the juice. This method isn’t that great since it is difficult to squeeze any extra juice from the seeds, so it ends up as messy as the previous two.
Method 4 – 2 liter bottle and juice.
Ok, here is my idea that works great for me. Using an empty 2 liter bottle, pour in your seeds using a funnel (you can make one out of paper). Then pour in your juice (if you use a funnel here, make sure it isn’t paper
) until the mix gets good and slurpy. Shake the hell out of it for 5 minutes. After it settles, there should be at least 2-4cm of juice on top of the seeds, it is ok to have more. Now, shake it every 10 mins for a couple mins for an hour at least. I like to let mine set for 2 hours or longer. The idea is to wash the morphine off the seeds. You then unscrew the cap a little bit and squeeze out your juice through the threads of the bottle cap. BAM! You now have your juice with very few seeds (if any) in your cup. This process can be repeated with more juice up to 4-5 times in the same day. If you were to let it set for a day each time, you could only repeat it at most 3 times total. This is the method I always use now, it is easy, clean and rather quick.
Now, on to my most memorable experience when I first used this method. I do not remember the date, but it was a Saturday and my girl and I decided to rent some movies. We rented a billiards game for the game cube, and 4 movies – Farenheight 9/11, Bowling for columbine, Day after tomorrow and Butterfly effect.
We got back home and I started my tea using 567g of seeds. I found a good deal on 567g tubs of seeds at wholesale prices and picked up 2… anyways, I want to stress that this is not a recommended dosage, anybody who has no tolerance towards opiates would most likely get too fucked up and not like it. So please do not use this as a recipe, it is only an informational report, you could get hurt.

I sat down with my poppy juice around 2pm. We started the first movie and we chose 9/11 just cuz of all the things we had heard about it. Great movie BTW. I drank my juice in about 25 minutes. I refilled the bottle with sunny D and shook it up.

I’m not feeling a whole lot of anything yet, but my hands are clammy and my face and neck are very flush and kind of blotchy (for me it is normal with morphine), so I knew it was in my system. I gave the bottle a few more shakes, put it back in the fridge and went back in the living room to the movie.
3:30pm
I grabbed the bottle from the fridge, shook it, strained the juice, and filled it back up with more sunny D. The movie was almost over and I really didn’t feel too happy with our president at that time. Also at this time, I noticed my legs were a bit wobbly and I felt like I had drank a couple beers. My stomach wasn’t feeling too happy, so I toked on some good cannabis to ease my nausea. That helped a lot, so then we finished the movie and I started drinking my next cup of juice.
4:00pm
We put in the next movie – Bowling for columbine, and I was feeling the effects of the juice quite well, my nausea came back a little, but passed rather quickly. We watched the movie for a while, I sipped my juice and had it gone in 20 mins or so. I had to go pee very badly, so I went to the bathroom and went about my business. But found out it wasn’t very easy to go pee. After what seemed like an eternity, it came out and the feeling was so insanely great that I was on the verge of an orgasm then my knees literally gave out and I had to work hard at standing up. After I finished, I felt shaky but felt rather good.
5:00pm
Now, I am truly fuckerd up. I feel pretty much numb and warm all over. It is difficult to walk straight, but I can still keep drinking my juice. I strained it again and filled it again, and went back to the living room to watch the movies. I notice that my pain is virtually gone, but I have almost no euphoria. I just felt really mellow. I still had some leftover 5/500mg tabs from my doctor, so I took 2.
6:00pm
New movie now, I am just kind of staring through the TV and there is lots of euphoria now. I can feel the hydrocodone working great, and I am scratching my skin like crazy (especially my face, legs, and arms). Hydrocodone never makes me all itchy, unless I have been having too much fun in one day, so I knew the morphine was in full effect. I can feel myself going in and out of nods through this movie (I think it was The Day after Tomorrow) and I feel excellent.
7:00pm
Got up to strain some more juice, I fill the 2 liter back up again and shake it. I am pretty smashed right now, and decide that I want more cannabis. Smoked a bowl, and thought about food. My tummy was all settled down now, and I was getting hungry. We put a pizza in the oven and I drank my juice. It was done 15 mins later, and we ate. OMG everything tastes so wonderful. I end up drinking my whole cup of juice with the pizza, and I made myself another cup, then filled the bottle again with juice.
8:00pm
New movie again, not sure which one it was then, but after it started I found out it was Butterfly effect (weird movie, but good). I can feel my eyes halfway shut and my hands are still very clammy as they had been since 3:00pm. Pizza settled well, I swear I have gone pee at least 5 times since the first one, and I am just realizing how much I was using the bathroom. Still feeling very intoxicated, the hydrocodone is starting to wear off though, so I am feeling less euphoric, but I am totally fine with it. I still feel pretty damn good, not being in pain for most of the day.
9:00pm
The movie is almost over, and my buzz seems to be running strong still. After the movie was over, we went to the bedroom. I have drank a total of 6 cups of juice and I make one last cup to take to the bedroom. We watched South Park DVD’s just like every other night, since we don’t get cable in the country/farm areas here. I am still scratching all over, driving my girl nuts, cuz she is trying to sleep on me and I am moving all over when I get an itch. I find it amusing but she was tired and didn’t think it was so funny.

I notice that there is some diminished effect, but there really isn’t any feeling of a comedown. I finished my last cup of juice and smoked a good night bowl. I normally don’t go to sleep until after midnight, but I can already tell that I am going to nod off soon.

Sure enough, I looked over at the clock and it read 1:30am. I went into a nod and woke up with the remote still in my hand, the TV and lights were still on, and I still felt pretty good. I got up and turned everything off, then went to bed. Sleep came very easily and quick with no doubt at all.
Conclusion
Incredible stuff, I would like to put all the other experiences in here too, just because they can be different from time to time, but this was a great experience. This experience made me into a believer, and now I have that extra help I need when the pain gets intense. I have told a good friend about this method. His girl suffers from chronic back pain, goes to a pain clinic and now has no insurance, she is very grateful to me now that I have helped her. So until she can get insurance, she has some relief as well, that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. I wouldn’t recommend this to just anybody, so don’t take this report as any kind of recipe, it is for informational purposes only. If you decide to dabble with poppy seeds, remember that people have died from poppy seed tea, so use your head and be careful.

. Needless to say that my tolerance was and has been high for a while, it did go down in those 3 days a little bit though.
