Poppy seed questions

I'm wondering how to store my poppy seeds (straight from the dry pod). They've been inside a ziplock bag at room temperature in a drawer for about 6 months. My plan is to plant them this year, and I'm hoping they can still be planted. Can anyone help me out?

I would listen to thelung since so many poppies come from the great state of washington..... Mine should be here in a few days

A lot of people here grow them in their yards and gardens. Especially in my hometown of Spokane. They're everywhere it seems.
