I just followed a guide on how to make a "smokeable" extract from poppy seeds using 91% isopropyl alcohol. My end product is a brown gooey puddy like material. It's very hard to work with and doesn't burn well at all. How can I dry this out into a powder or solid material? I've had it under a fan for hours and It hasn't made any progress. Or is it not going to dry out completely since I used 91% isopropyl alcohol? Has anyone had any success doing this?

Should I try refining it? Like do a Cold water extraction to get the dirt and crap out? Would water evaporate better and leave a dryer product?

Curious about this as well, the chemistry knowledge needed to do this exceeds what I've got. I'd like to hear more on this as well...

I did a CWE on my crude poppy seed tar. I'm gonna double broil it tomorrow to evaporate the water out. Ill let you guys know what happens.

Do a wash with a non-polar solvent, like xylene, or toulene.

Morphine/heroin alkaloids are for the most part, water soulable, but many of the impurities in your "tar" aren't water soulable.

Some of these may be toulene soluble, some may be xylene soluble.

Think of it like washing the colors out of a t-shirt.

Just make sure your product is completely dried before you perform a wash....

To get the maximum amount of impurities out, do a wash with several non polar solvents....

Make sure you heat the solvents before you do a wash!!
also, make sure your solvents are 100% anhydrous.......

^this makes sense if non polar solevents are to be used. Isnt isopropyl a polar solevent?

I have also wondered of trying to make a relatively pure form of poppy extract but have a lack of good support that it would work. 99% isopropyl is easy to attain and cheap. Is there any way to purify it further?
