Poppy Pods in New Orleans

Hey, does anybody know where to get papaver somniferum pods that could be used for tea in the New Orleans area (metaire, kenner, river ridge, harahan, west bank, anywhere around here)? i can't find any info on pods in new orleans. i went to local florists, plant stores, decorative stores like michaels and i can't find em anywhere.

i'm gonna feel real stupid if thats true.... i have traveled around the US a lot in the past 2 years and have been in many states where they are legal.... do you know for a fact that they are illegal in new orleans? or do you just think they're illegal everywhere? cuz theyre not

havent found anything elsewhere about new orleans but it follows the general rule for the rest of the us for the most part.
only when sold as psychoactive or used for such is it illegal.
in that article it says you need a license to sell flower arrangements. maybe if true thats why youre not finding them easily but its still not illegal. maybe try online shopping.

You might have more luck finding pods if you don't stagger into the floral shop wearing Birkenstock sandals, a multicolored ganga skullcap, and a goatee down to the middle of your chest, starting every incoherent sentence out with "Duuuuuude......."


I would suggest going in there clean cut, with a button up shirt, be polite, and take your 85 yr old grandmother along. She won't know what the pods are for - she'll just be glad to get outta the house.

I used to order poppy pods all the time last summer, never had any problem. Now the prices and availability are fucked, so they're nearly impossible to get.

Poppy straw is a scheduled substance though. It's not the most enforced law in the land, however I still would not want to be caught.
