Opioids Poppy Pods causing panic attacks?

I recently ordered some pods from a website. I have a medium-medium/low tolerance (take15-25 mg of hydrocodone on occassion)

I have had the tea a couple of times now and seem to get really anxious. It feels like I took an adderall. I have been cleaning for the past 3 hours, and am getting really paranoid. Am I having a reaction to the thebaine? Did Iget pods with low morphine content? I am feeling like I am having a panic attack, pacing around the house and feels short of breath.

I am very alert ATM. Could caffiene have an effect combined with the thebaine in the pods? I drank two cans of Mountain Dew.

Please help! Starting to feel like I am going crazy : (

it could be thebaine...i guess, but i don't really know what sort of mental effects thebaine is likely to cause.

do you have a history of anxiety/panic attacks?

PS we don't 'SWIM' here.

Opiates can cause anxiety and panic attacks especially if you are prone to those kind of problems. Might be massive histamine release that causes stimulation...how about you try an antihistamine? (the kind that stops histamine in brain aka 1st gen antihistamines) I myself have had a panic attack couple times from massive doses of codeine. Also the panic and anxiety might start really small and then just like a snowball get bigger the more you think about it.

Could be the thebaine. Narcotine in particular can cause anxiety. Narcotine is usually removed from opium preparation, tinctures or smoking O. Also sometimes on opiates it depresses the breathing so much that it could feel disturbing. Or it could be paradoxical stimulation that's common with opiates.

opiates are well known to cause anxiety and panic attacks in some individuals. no surprise here. also, we don't give out drug sources here

Oh thank you I had no idea that opiates could cause anxiety, so that is a surprise to me. That makes a lot of sense now.

So could I take phenergan to counteract the anxiety? Or is benadryl better?

I didn't realize at the time about the SWIM/asking for a PAN. I was a little out of it when I wrote that and forgot the rules in my panicked state. I will edit the post. I think I am going to take it easy tonight. I need to get more than 2 hours of sleep.

i'd go with benadryl, eases anxiety, sleep and gets rid of the histamine reaction. I'm interested in hearing how this worked out for you and if you try pods again if they cause the same effect. I take opiates/poppy tea for anxiety and they seems to work quite well, i've had panic attacks before while high though but my life was a mess at the time. Codeine definitely gives me anxiety though, so maybe too much codeine/thebaine in your pods made it worse but who knows.

The first time I tried pods they gave me anxiety too. Very rushy, wavy high that seemed to last forever.

Other opiates I'm generally fine on.

UPDATE:
I tried it again with a different source. Much, much better. I must have ordered some crappy pods. I will stick with these unwashed seeds I found on [no sourcing plz - Axl]. The feeling is much more mellow and floaty! PLUS it is way cheaper. I used 1/4 pound of seeds and only have had to drink maybe an eighth of the tea. Plenty left over so I am going to refrigerate it.

I did use the benadryl and tried the pod tea again twice and it helped some, I think I may have had a slight allergic reaction to something in the pods, my nose was really runny and I felt like stuck my face in a cloud of pollen. Anyway, my conclusion is thatthe pods I ordered were horrible.

poppy pods give me anxiety, but it's mostly due to the fact that i go on raids and obtain them illegally. p. paeoniflorum grows naturally here or people arrange it on their plots for display. ppt is definitely a no-no here. i will say that through my experiences with various opiates, i.e. street and pharmaceutical, i have experienced higher or lower levels of sedation and/or anxiety depending on the opiate i had consumed. for example, hydrocodone gives me a brief, energetic high, heroin nods me out. faded.

the problem with ppt is that we're getting several different alkaloids and we're not sure how much or how many. i have read that thebaine may cause anxiety. indeed, until it is processed into a bentley compound high enough doses of unrefined thebaine may cause a cardiac arrest similar to that from a stimulant. i realize i'm talking a lot, but not saying anything so i guess i should make my point- yes, it may cause anxiety. i won't recommend adding booze or benzo's and benadryl i believe actually reduces your high by affecting liver enzymes that process opiates. if you don't become comfortable with the anxiety or cannot apply it to something constructive, perhaps pods aren't for you. best wishes.
